ESWC 2013 with $25,000 prize purse

The Eletronic Sports World Cup (ESWC) officials have announced that the CS:GO tournament will feature a prize purse of $25,000.

The French event will take place from October 30th to November 3rd at Porte de Versailles as part of the Paris Games Week videogame trade fair.

The male CS:GO tournament will feature a total of 16 teams, four of whom are invited by the event organisers, while the rest will come from the national qualifiers that will be held all around the globe.

NiP won the 2012 event

It has now been confirmed that the tournament will hand out $25,000, which represents a $5,000 increase when compared to last year's tournament, which had just 10 teams.

The news is less disappointing if you take into account that CS:GO is, together with Dota 2, the game with the highest prizes at ESWC. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has $20,000, Shootmania, $15,000, and Trackmania and Fifa 14 have $8,000.

The prize distribution is the following:

1. $12,500
2. $7,500
3. $5,000

The prize pot for the female CS:GO tournament remains at $10,000, with distribution of the money being the following:

1. $5,000
2. $3,000
3. $2,000

Stay tuned to HLTV.org for full info about the ESWC finals.

If I wrote "Louis Vuitton", than that correction would apply. Though I did say "Louie" which is a slang-term for Louis Vuitton, so it wasn't actually a mistake. LAWYERED

Isn't Louie the american spelling of "Louis" ?I'm pretty sure it is, and you thought it was written the same way, nice try Marshall Eriksen, nice try :P Btw never heard of that slang term, and saying that using a slang word like "bro" is as correct as "brother" in english, doesn't make any sense.

Why steam market money would go to dreamhack? Doesn't make any sense to me. A portion of it can go to 'future' valve hosted cs:go event but why dreamhack? O_o

1000+ esports keys being sold means they are bought more then 15k+ a DAY. Some of the proceeds from theese keys will be went to a community cs:go trounoument (valve wont host one) general idea is it will go to dreamhack. To give you an idea; if valve gives %25 of profits from esports keys to tourney,it means at least $6.000 a DAY is piling up.Consider it started 3 weeks ago = $120.000 + normal prize pot = we may have $200k cs:go torney

Mehh you didn't get my point.. I'm saying why valve woud give it's steam community money to dreamhack? Nothing like this happened in TF2/DotA2 afaik so why exceptions for cs:go? :p And valve definitely would host a CS:GO tournament if they get good return from market/store

1. 12,500 2. 7,500 3. 5,000 well.. 1/2 = verygames/nip 3 = coL (maybe) So.. why teams from Norway , Argentina , Pakistan , Brazil travel in paris if its 0% chance to win anything? if prize pool was 50,000 ->> 1. 20,00 2. 12,500 3. 9,000 4. 4,500 5. 3,000 6. 1,000

f*ck logic! -_- its not the same 25.000 to become 50.000 and 25.000 -> 1M my point its that they give a reason to make travel from (Norway , Argentina , Pakistan , Brazil ) more intresting, and go back with some money, ok not thousands of money but at least 1.000!

It'll probably be used in a tournament that has some kind of tie with Valve, or something hosted by Valve itself - otherwise it would be hard to decide how big of an amount should be put in to the events prize pool, without making certain events getting an "uneven share" of the key case money

That would be good, and for all attendees as subsidised travel would tie in nicely with their 'Global' game title too - (just saying Valve, I know you read what I write...) I cannot understand why there is a separate female tournament though - what justification is there? Why do teams have all female / all male line-ups anyway?

Why have the admins deleted the discussion about gender differences in e-Sport? If some childish people post stupid remarks at the END of a discussion, you don't have to delete EVERY SINGLE POST in that discussion for fuck sake. Pathetic, some admins need to learn how to moderate properly, and the people running this site need to stop giving power to kids. Just because they talk a lot on the forums, doesn't mean they are mature enough to moderate in an unbiased/non power abusive manner.

The only two comments deleted in this thread were "tard" and one in a non-English language. It just so happened that the discussion you refer to was in continuation to the first comment, so it disappeared with it. You are the one who has some learning to do, reserve your judgement on others a bit and don't tell moderators how to moderate. And also, when you in that very same discussion say to someone "You have the mental capacity of a dead frog", you forfeit all rights to ever call anyone childish.

It just so happened that the discussion you refer to was in continuation to the first comment, so it disappeared with it. It just so happens, that was my entire point. And since when is insulting morons childish? If I'm giving someone science-backed facts, and they are pushing it under the carpet with mythical bullshit, I have to right to compare their intelligence to a dead frog. Also, this isn't the only time this has happened, there is countless threads about admins deleting large blocks of conversation over one bad post. If there is a bad post, edit it to say REMOVED or something, there is no need to delete lot's of active discussions.

Insulting anyone for any reason is childish, if you had a pinch of maturity you would know you can carry out a point without going for insults, and you would know when to stop arguing. And you said "at the END of a discussion" while it was at the beginning and that's the only reason it all disappeared. If it was at the end, nothing would have disappeared but that comment, and that's what I was saying. That's how it works on this website, replies branch out, and if we delete one comment all that branch from it disappear, there is no going around it. People should know better than to start and continue a discussion from someone's "tard".

Insulting anyone for any reason is childish, if you had a pinch of maturity The irony in that sentence is laughable. People should know better than to start and continue a discussion from someone's "tard". I didn't even know the branch started from 'someones tard', do you not think that you could have used some of your vast amount of maturity, to opt to leave the comment (or edit if possible), in order to maintain the active discussions, rather than to just piss people off?

There is nothing ironic or laughable about that. You displayed your immaturity, I pointed it out. I did not compare you to a dead frog or any other amphibian, nor did I call you a moron. That would make it ironic. And if it's insulting to you when someone points out that you're being childish, you just might wanna think about how ironic that is. I told you in my first reply that the discussion began on top of someone's "tard" and I told you that because you didn't know for sure what was deleted, you should have reserved your judgement. I don't even know who deleted that, but no we couldn't and shouldn't leave a comment "tard" for the sake of a discussion that was had on this website at least 30 times in the past. Editing users' comments is also not possible. So as I told you already, you obviously do not know how this site works, so you don't get to attack and insult moderators, and tell them what to do if it doesn't work out the way you want it to. I hope everything is clear now.

Calling someone immature is actually an insult, but I like the false logic you wrote. Also, pretty much every topic has been discussed multiple times here, that doesn't mean it's a fair reason to delete it. Maybe you should ask nomad tp add the ability to edit messages?

I guess it's not clear so I'll write it again: You obviously do not know how this site works, so you don't get to attack and insult moderators, and tell them what to do if it doesn't work out the way you want it to. What you do get is to take the chance and apologize for your nonsense in the first post in this reply tree and stop the arguing. You will not teach us anything new that we haven't already considered.

Thanks for treating my complaint in a mature / professional manner. Instead of compromises and understanding, I get called Childish, and told that because I'm not a moderator on the site, I can't have an opinion on how the website works (Despite the fact I have 5X your posts). Anyway, no point arguing anymore, you are clearly getting defensive/upset and I'm going on holiday anyway so won't be on the site for another 2 weeks :)

You're welcome, since I really did reply to all of your complaints initially. There was no compromise to be made, you were wrong in your assumption that it was in any way possible not to delete that discussion or to edit the deleted comment. And you were VERY immature in the way you brought up your complaint by attacking the moderators. And I would also extend a sarcastic thank you for once again showing how childish you are by bringing up that you have 5x number of my posts. That's cute :) Everyone can have an opinion on how the website works or should work, but when your complaint looks like this: "Pathetic, some admins need to learn how to moderate properly, and the people running this site need to stop giving power to kids. Just because they talk a lot on the forums, doesn't mean they are mature enough to moderate in an unbiased/non power abusive manner.", you forfeit all rights to be taken seriously. You want some understanding? Then you definitely need to grow up and get some manners first. The chance for you to apologize for that and be taken more seriously in the future still stands.

How is anything he said even remotely ironic? He hasn't insulted you in any way. Calling you childish for using the phrase "you have the mental capacity of a dead frog" in a "scientific" discussion doesn't qualify.

You either mustn't know what Irony means, or you are just a bit slow. I'll assume the latter and just ignore your comment.

I'm very aware of what ironic means, which is why I'm confused as to why you're using that term to describe his responses.
