NiP to SLTV grand final over Titan

NiP have bested Titan 2-1 (8-16 de_dust2, 16-12 de_nuke, 16-3 de_inferno) to advance to the SLTV StarSeries IX grand final at 18:00 where they will take on Natus Vincere.

Titan picked off two NiP players in middle, and then attacked B to win their de_dust2 terrorist pistol round. Two NiP saves later, including a triple headshot effort by Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom, they led 3-0.

Robin "Fifflaren" Johansson's three kills got NiP the first round, but even his early pick on Kévin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans wasn't enough next round, as a pair of kills by Benrlitom made it 4-1.

A save round later, Nathan "NBK" Schmitt got four AK47 kills to break NiP's bank again, extending Titan's lead to 7-1. Johansson's early pick was once again for nothing, as Schmitt took care of business later on.

Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund bought an AWP on a save, but it was taken away as Titan ran over NiP. Next two rounds then went to the Swedes, with solid play by Richard "Xizt" Landström and Johansson in particular.

Fifflaren's strong play early on in de_dust2 yielded little results

Titan took the momentum back one round later with Schmitt's continued strong play. A pair of kills by  him helped the French-Belgians wrap the A bombsite, and extend their lead to 10-3.

Landström then pushed catwalk to get three aggresive kills in the middle, but Schmitt matched him and won Titan the round. Final round saw Alesund get two MAG-7 kills, but it wasn't enough to stop Titan.

Up 12-3, Titan's Benrlitom and Schmitt massacred NiP on the second half pistol round. After a save it was 14-3, and then doubles by Kenny "kennyS" Schrub and Benrlitom gave Titan map point.

NiP then mounted a mini comeback that saw Alesund win a one-on-one despite Schmitt's triple, and a pair of kills by both Alesund and Adam "friberg" Friberg, but ultimately Titan closed it out 16-8.

Titan won the series' third pistol round as well thanks a double from Schmitt in a lower bombsite retake. A lonely AK buy from Landström didn't do much in round two, but Friberg's triple got NiP on the board right after.

NBK was incredible in Titan's de_dust2 win

Benrlitom's two P250 kills weren't enough to sway a save round, but a double from Droolans got Titan back on top. That was short lived though, as a quad kill plus a one-on-two from Lindberg tied the game.

The French-Belgians attempted a weak MAG-7 force buy with no results, and a pair of kills from Landström and Alesund got NiP up to a 7-3 lead. Then it was Edouard "SmithZz" Duboureaux' turn.

Dubourdeaux got a triple M4A4 kill in the lower bombsite, and doubles from him and Droolans got Titan to five. One more stop in upper later NiP had to save to tie it up, but Friberg and Johansson secured NiP a 8-7 lead.

Droolans' side quickly mowed NiP down at ramp to tie the game up, but NiP quickly regained control by stopping Titan in their tracks on the save round right after, thanks to Friberg's two kills.

friberg had some big rounds for NiP on de_nuke

NiP wound up winning three more rounds in a row before Schrup inspired a comeback from Titan. He first AWP aced NiP, and ten put up four kills with Schmitt to make it 10-12.

Next round Dubourdeaux and Schmitt combined for four, and after a save from NiP the teams were tied at twelve. Then it was time for NiP's two superstars to take over and finish the map.

First Lindberg got two kills to give NiP back the lead, and then Alesund scored a triple in upper to force Titan on a save. Lindberg then clinched the map 16-12 and tied the series with three kills on the final round.

Friberg started de_inferno with a one-on-one win in the A site as terrorists. Titan almost won a save round, but Landström prevailed in a one-on-one, and then Johansson won a one-on-two two rounds later.

kennyS still unable to take down NiP

Up 4-0, NiP surrendered against a saving Titan team, as Schmitt got the better of Landström in a one-on-one battle in B. From there on out the map was all NiP though.

NiP easily went up 6-1, and then Friberg won a two-on-four with Landström in B. Dubourdeaux' double had Titan on the verge of winning a round, but Johansson came through with another big one-on-two to make it 9-1.

Three kills from Droolans got Titan their round number two, but Landström beat Droolans in a one-on-one next to make it 11-2. Final two rounds were traded, and NiP led 12-3 at half.

Johansson's three Five-Seven kills got NiP the pistol round, and Lindberg's double got them game point. From there it only took one more round, which NiP instantly won, to clinch the map 16-3 and the series 2-1.

Fifflaren proved he can be a good rifler. But he's not a sniper. If NiP wants to stop struggling, they need an awper.

I'm pretty sure he could AWP vs Titan. He has always performed vs Titan imo. What's funny is that fliff usually chokes vs other top tier teams. Lets see if that's the case this time vs Na`Vi in the grand finals, he should be really motivated to go vs them right now as he was doing so damn well even though the second 1v2 Titan should've won but whoever was the 2nd guy didn't hit a single shot.

True. But most people here seem to think that nip plays somehow bad compared to the past year. I think it's not nip who's play has regressed, everyone else have just improved over time. But still pretty sick to maintain that level of play when margins are really small within top teams.

Yeah but it´s a retarded point? That kind of dominance can never be sustained in a competitive enviroment. And the CS-scene got a huuuge boost when DH Winter was announced, before that a team like NiP could take full advantage of being the #1 team. Let´s take a look at some other top teams since DH Bucharest: Fnatic - Won Dreamhack, haven´t really done shit after that, but are a stable top 5-8 team. Virtus.Pro - Won Katowice and haven´t yet proven that they are (hopefully) a top 3 team in the world over a longer period of time. iBuyPower - Horrible placings at the majors but a ESEA Lan win against Titan, another one hit wonder? Seems promising since the changes in the top part of the NA-scene. NaVi - Horrible placings at the majors but seems to be on a form-peak for this Starladder Finals. Complexity, LGB, Dignitas - Good placings at both Katowice and DH. Haven´t really won anything big. and at last: Titan - The only team that have taken the #1 spot in the world from NiP since the beginning of CS:GO have since fallen off even though they had a decent showing with their new lineup beating Virtus and losing 1-2 against NiP. Then look at NiP since Bucharest one more time. They are the #1 team in the world and have been for the majority of CS:GO and all this with Fifflaren. He isn´t the problem because they haven´t got a fucking problem. TL;DR You can´t be more dominant than NiP in the current scene.

Maybe you should find another hobby then. NiP are #1 because they deserve it. It's not their fault other teams struggle to claim the throne.

I don't know if they are #1. Probably they are. Anyway, it wasn't the point of my post. The point was about NiP domination and the boredom behind it. I didn't want them to win because I would find CS:GO scene really boring if NiP was winning ALL of the tournaments. It's just like in case of football. If i watched football (which i don't) i wouldn't like any team to dominate. Watching the tournaments wouldn't have any sense and emotions connected with it wouldn't be so vivid. Cheers.

f0rest can awp. NiP just play a different way to the other teams. They don't really need an awp. Any of the players in NiP could play some deathmatch for a few days and become amazing with the awp, but NiP are just a 5 rifle team.

If they meet NiP at any stage, they will be outplayed and thrown out from any tournament. NiP > Titan on train, inferno and nuke at least. Titan > NiP on dust2 and may be mirage. So NiP is their biggest nightmare again :-D

Technically you said "tomorrow", which includes the matches against Titan and Na'Vi, and if you combine the two Fifflaren did bottom frag, but he's tied with GTR ,-) He has less deaths than GTR, though.

WOW! He played well. Its luck when it happens for 1 round. But he played well the whole BO3, though I didn't get to see the 2nd map, I'm sure he played well.

Well it seems that bringing kennys instead shox was fatal for smithz. He obvios dont have that much space like he had when shoxie played.

+1, I didn't catch the games but I guess he's not AWPing any more? I don't really see the need for both smithzz and ex6tenz. They kind of have the same role I believe?

just saying that % doesn mean shit ye sit is great to see that hight % but it is not important at all. important is to kill people and to win crucial rounds or to break momentum
