NiP see off Na´Vi to win DH Summer
NiP won DreamHack Summer 2014 following a 2-0 victory over Na´Vi in the grand final (16-5 on de_inferno, 19-16 on de_train).
Na´Vi started off in great fashion in the first half on de_inferno, getting four kills early in the pistol round, which left Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg up against three opponents. The Swedes replied immediately after, though, rushing the B site on eco and planting the bomb thanks to some well-timed grenades. Na´Vi did kill off their opponents, but they took too long to retake the bombsite, allowing the bomb to go off.
NiP went on to win two more rounds to take the score to 3-1 in their favour, but then a mistake while planting the bomb in A, combined with some miscommunication on the Swedes' part, allowed Na´Vi to reduce the deficit to just one round.
The Ukrainian side were able to level the score on three rounds but overconfidence on their part proved costly as they once again fell victim to an eco round from NiP, with Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund getting some important kills.
After finding themselves trailing NiP 3-6, Na´Vi switched to a took a more aggressive approach to defending, especially from their players in B, but all it got them was a mere two rounds, as the home side kept winning round after round to go into the break up 10-5.
In the second half, Na´Vi came close to winning the pistol round, but two crucial kills from Adam "friberg" Friberg in the rotation turned the tie. Friberg would prove to be just as important in the first gun round, when he got a triple kill. Lacking ideas and the inspiration to break through NiP's defence, Na´Vi failed to win a single round in the Terrorist side as the Swedes picked up a 16-5 victory to take the lead in the game.

Fifflaren: Top fragger on de_inferno
On de_train, NiP, who started out on the CT side, looked like they had the pistol round in the bag after Robin "Fifflaren" Johansson picked up a triple kill in the inner site, but then some great long-range Glock work from the Ukrainians put them in the lead.
After losing the first eco round, NiP surprisingly went for a buy, a move that backfired as Na´Vi kept on winning. Eventually the Swedish side found themselves down by five rounds, and things were not looking good for them. Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund's two shotgun kills then helped NiP to get their first round in the map, with the Swedes going on to reduce the deficit to 4-5.
Na´Vi then went on an eco rush in the alley, a strategy that wreaked havoc in NiP's defence and almost cost the Swedish team the round, if it weren't for Alesund saving the day by winning a 1-on-2 situation.
In order to counter Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács' AWP, NiP bought two auto-snipers and one AWP, but that move did not pay off as they lost the round, despite Robin "Fifflaren" Johansson winning a 1-on-2 with two stunning kills (no time left on the clock to defuse the bomb). The rest of the first half was neck-and-neck, with NiP taking a close 8-7 lead to the second half.
In the pistol round, NiP went for a textbook mid rush which literally gave Na´Vi no chance. With the Ukrainians trailing 7-11, Sergey "starix" Ischuk put his side back in the game with two kills in the alley. Rounds kept going back and forth, until Na´Vi embarked on a four-round winning streak to level the game on 14 rounds.
The 29th round was a dramatic one, with NiP spurning a 4-on-2 situation, leaving Richard "Xizt" Landström up against two opponents. Luckily for them, the team's captain was up to the task as he took Na´Vi's men down to put NiP just inches away from the victory. In the final round, Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg almost won a 1-on-3 situation in the inner site, but the last man alive from Na´Vi managed to defuse the bomb.
In overtime, Na´Vi, who remained in the CT side, got off the brighter and took the lead after winning the first round, but then NiP replied and won four rounds in a row to win the map 19-16, the game and the tournament.
