Day one finished at ASUS ROG

First day of action, featuring groups A and B, has finished at ASUS ROG Summer 2014 in Helsinki with Publiclir, Menace, ENCORE and myRevenge advancing to the playoffs.

Group A saw Jacob "⁠pyth⁠" Mourujärvi's Publiclir open up with a dominating 16-3 win over Finnish Joutsenlaulu,while TMVG surrendered a 15-13 lead on de_dust2 to lose in overtime versus Menace.

The Swedes topped the group with a 16-13 win versus Menace, and it took Timi "⁠aslak⁠" Verkkoperä's TMVG just as many rounds to overcome Joutsenlaulu in the lower round at the same time.

Deciding game saw aslak show great form as he scored 33 frags, including an ace and two four-kill rounds, for a +15 K-D difference on de_mirage, only for his team to lose to Menace in overtime.

aslak's strong performance wasn't enough to lift TMVG to the playoffs

In group B ENCORE was dominant. Joona "⁠natu⁠" Leppänen's team won sixteen straight rounds versus naMNam after a 0-4 start, while Danny "⁠BERRY⁠" Krüger's myRevenge beat ajuri 16-9.

Led by Jesse "⁠KHRN⁠" Grandell, ENCORE then disposed of myRevenge 16-2 on de_mirage, while the Swedes of naMNam had an equally dominant 16-1 scoreline versus ajuri on de_cache.

In the knockout game myRevenge and naMNam looked neck-and-neck early on, but Asger "⁠AcilioN⁠" Larsen's strong play propelled the Danes to a 16-9 win in the second half.
