Helblinde to return to CS

Former Vitriolic and Reason Gaming member Christopher "Helblinde" Nilsson has announced via Twitter that he will be returning to competitive gaming soon.

The Swedish player was widely regarded as one of the top AWPers in the CS:Source scene and was part of a number of top teams that also included players like Robin "⁠Fifflaren⁠" Johansson, Adam "⁠friberg⁠" Friberg and Henrik "⁠FeTiSh⁠" Christensen.

After retiring from gaming to become a DJ in Japan, Nilsson announced that he was battling some chronic health problems, which forced him to undergo chemotherapy and return to Sweden.

He is now on the path to full recovery, and on Monday revealed through his Twitter account that he will be trying his luck in CS:GO.

Announcing my return to Counter-Strike sometime next week. The last years struggle, now coming back doing something I love.. I can't wait.

+1 - not sure if he'll fit in with the quiet guys of NiP (apart from F0rest), but to continue being an elite team NiP need to get a better awper. Hard to see them changing any part of the team, but they should. KennyS, Guardian KQLY - these guys are just game changers while fifflaren is their 5th. Even Xist has stepped it up.

Truthfully it's a bit silly with all the attention this has been getting, and while I'm grateful, there's tons of work to be done before I'd even consider myself a top awper in this game. Articles like this are on a tabloid level. A player who was good long time ago in a different game (although it's easier to addapt for saucer than sixer) and who has not even started playing seriously, has no team and haven't showed any signs he is going to be top level.

Sure, but by the same token, if Walle came back and everybody from the 1.6 scene started calling him a legend. Well, that wouldn't make him a legend to someone who came from CS:S. It doesn't mean either of them weren't legends in their respective scene/game though :).
