NiP add pita as a strategy adviser

NiP have announced the addition of Faruk "pita" Pita to their team in the form of a strategy adviser via their Facebook page.

In a role not far removed from a coach, Ninjas in Pyjamas have recruited former teammate of Richard "Xizt" Landström, and most recently SK Gaming in-game leader, Faruk "pita" Pita.

NiP join the ranks of Titan, fnatic and their first ESL One opponent Indian Wolf as teams having recruited coaches, whose benefits were outlined in our article on coaching.

The Swedes are known for a skill-heavy playing style and have changed their in-game leader a number of times in CS:GO, though always returning to Xizt at the end.

On their Facebook page, NiP gave the following statement regarding pita's addition to the team, who will be traveling to ESL One Cologne later today:

"We would like to give a warm welcome to our latest recruit Faruk "Pita" Pita. He will act as a Strategy Advicer for our Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team, with his knowledge of being a in-game leader in the past he will be the perfect match for our team to develop and take the game to another level. His first event as a Strategy Advicer will be at Gamescom so look forward to some high level tactics from NiP at Gamescom!"

pita's first match as NiP's strategy adviser will begin at 09:00 tomorrow, when the heavy favorites will take on Wolf. Later they will play either HellRaisers or Epsilon.

Yup, Per Lilliefelth is the CEO on paper, or VD as we would call it in Sweden. I think he does the most of the paperworks and stuffs like that for Ninjas in Pyjamas AB. HeatoN is still responsible for every team that NiP has, and stepping down as CEO and also let pita have a strategy leader role in CSGO-team creates alot of time working with just that, all of the teams. It's like devilwalk for fnatic, he spares alot of time for cArn to do other things. If I have understand this correctly, pita will have something to say about NiP:s tactics from now on, due to his great experience as an IGL (we know that from 1.6) This would be very interesting to see the results of. Good luck pita and rest of NiP!

thats the worst argument ever. you score points by hitting the enemy player model with animated bullets, and you get points for rounds won, not much different than how you get points in other sports, and also there is playstyle variation within each rival playing style, again not much different from other sports. You dont kill anything in cs, they are just simulated models/targets that you get points if you hit with your animated weapons, just another way of collecting points against another team that is trying to prevent you from doing so. couldnt be more similar to physical sports.

Obviously they are frustrated with their bad results and want to try something new. In the past this 'something new' has been changing the igl (several times) or changing the awp role. This is a way to add more strategy (which is what nip really lack) without taking their focus away from their individual skills.

You must be joking, xizt/fifflaren/friberg have more than 4+ years in cs adding 1.6/css experience if not more. They don't deserve recognition in most of their fans' eyes coz they are overshadowed by 2 all time greats in the game and all the '-fiff' hate but the fact is they do.

fair enough, but isn't all this coaching, advisor stuff getting a bit silly? Are you telling me players like xizt, GeT_RiGhT and f0rest can't figure out a B-split or counter rotation, or some flashbangs and smokes, with all their experience?! e-sports is expanding and receiving more funding and as it does more jobs created, but it's not really at the stage where we should already be creating the 'non-jobs' that all industries are already littered with.

whel that's correct but evry team is saving strats or something special they found out during there prep time. So having another player/coach on a location to help with the anti strats and reading of the other team before you play them yeee that's a smart thing because xist can rest also like the rest then.

Well they could, but opinions amongst people vary. He might have another opinion which they wouldn't think of and they can focus more on non-tactical part of the game. There is one saying in our language and it goes like this: "More heads, more knowledge".

I think his job is mostly psychologic. Doing something for years tends to make people, even the best players, fall into manerisms and habbits. Their game tends to become very static, especially playing with the same lineup for years. He might be a huge asset to NiP, make their game more dynamic.

I agree with you, but the reason behind the move might just be because it could reduce the "extra" work the players have to do. Which would give them more time to focus on their individual game.

If pita is to be coaching them in real time as well as in their bootcamp it can only be a plus. When you're losing or being locked down having someone outside of the game looking in at every players perspective to see what is going wrong is a godsend, especially if you're stuck doing the same mistakes each round and not adapting quick enough.

It is just so much easier to shoot dem heads when someone tells you where to go and stuff. Like if you get 40 hours per week to plan tactics they will be 100% sure that they will be better than with few hours per week. You just get 0.5 extra player when you in game leader can just focus to game instead of tactics.

Watching demos and coming up with strats and counters to teams is very tedious and time consuming. It's one of the reasons in game leaders always suffer in the fragging department. So at the very least he can take that burden off of the team.

By the way guys, I think that if he will stay as long as someone will retire from NiP, he can go again full-time pro-gamer. Of course, if he will drop his bank job, what would be very stupid. Gaming is not good in long perspective for your life and career.

don't know about "strategy advisory" that's dumb as fuck and if they need him as one then they should all quit. More like devilwalk for fnatic, he is a motivator, team spirit builder! That's what they should have announced.. Not needing help with tactics, are they all fucking braindead after this many years of playing they forgot how to do basic tactics like every other team is doing that dominates them!

That's irrelevant, its still his responsibility. Last update was the 7th July saying that he has told steelseries to send them, so where are they? I could buy something from steelseries right now and I would get it quicker than a month and if it didn't I would be on phone giving them an ear full until it did.

The reason behind NiP hiring Pita as a strategy advisor is to create dynamics within the team, as it's hard to break your own patterns/decision-makings into something more controversial... rational thinking seem to be a rare thing these days.

NiP has 4 people who can take anything on skill, now imagine that Xizt gets to play his game skill wise while pita will be calling strats for NiP. Before that NiP won mostly relying on skill, now with pita they will use more tactic aproach to there game, inlude there awesome skill and u have a Nr.1 team. I will not be suprised if NiP will win ESL One Cologne.

Xizt does a pretty good job already being an igl, and you can see him not going down without a fight when the team's star players have died in a round, if he gets to unleash his form like in 1.6 days, its too much firepower in one team.

I am surprised about that. Personally I cannot see what he can bring the team, that they don´t have already. Several of the players on NIP have more experience than him. And it is not as if the teams Pita did lead in the past - were knowen as insane teams tactical wise. But lets see, they know more than I do about him.:D

I think his role is: - Braking down different opponents strats; hence players can play more - Giving perspective on tactical approach - Pointing out the mistakes (which doesnt lead internal battles, nor does it consume players time) What his role isnt: - Give tactical advise during game - Be IGL - Tell players how to play - Clap his hands and cheer behind them

i guess there is some kind of an idea behind this recruit, i just fail to see it. like 5 very experienced pro players can't figure out the best strats for themselves...then what the hell are they doing, being lazy as fuark ? lol only thing i could imagine is that during an event pita could watch the other games and report the main strats of the opponent as nip is playing another game at the same time.

Hopefully this can help them out a bit. They've really been struggling this past year.

does pita just get to live at the nip house and 'advise strategy' or does he get paid to 'advise strategy' over the net? seems like hes rolling it either way
