Teams for DHW qualifier announced

DreamHack has announced the names of the teams who will attend Saturday's last-chance qualifier for the Winter event.

Inferno Online Stockholm will on Saturday play host to the last-chance qualifier for DreamHack Winter, with four European teams vying for the two places in the upcoming major.

The two finalists of this qualifier, which will use a single-elimination format, will replace Titan and Epsilon, both of whom were disqualified from DH Winter following VAC bans.

natu's 3DMAX to meet CPH Wolves

With very little time to make arrangements for the qualifier, DreamHack decided to invite Nordic quartet London Conspiracy, 3DMAX, FlipSid3 Tactics and Copenhagen Wolves.

All four teams were recently in action in DH Winter's European closed qualifier and will travel to Stockholm on Saturday, with Valve covering their expenses.

Below you can find the match-ups as well as the timetable of the qualifier:

depends on the gpu and motherboard that you pair with it. i made the mistake of buying the asrock 990fx extreme3 which has thermal throttling problems and bad overclocking capability. im running it with the gtx 660 twin frozr and 8gb ram and mostly over 200 fps constant on 1920x1080. just make sure if you get it that you get a good board aswell

You should have above 250 with no problems. I have same gtx and ram, but with worse mainboard and I have 200+ easy. If you want 400+ you should buy i5k or i7.

mouz might deserve it more than k1ck. cos they beat them 16-1 and 16-7 at gamersimpact charity event lately. other bad results from k1ck for example: only winning 16-12 vs POW china 2-0 loss to encore 16-8 loss to property 16-5 loss to na'vi overtime loss and a tight 16-13 win vs USSR at cologne etc

And in Last ESWC they win vs LC and only lost to Titan and Na'vi... Teams like LC and 3dmax @ lan are in the same level than k1ck, sometimes they made good games sometimes they suck, and each of these teams have 2/3 maps where they can preform well, the problem is the other maps. So k1ck is not a tier 1 team, but neither mouz lc or any of the teams in this qualifier, they can surprise or play like sh it.

3DMAX Played a close Bo3 with NiP some time ago and beat Copenhagen Wolves and Dignitas on OT both on Cache and went far beyond expectation in DreamHack Stockholm.

No they don't. No matter if they knew or not, them not attending sends message. Organizations need to be professional and investigate this stuff on themselves and care about their employees being clean. Inviting Titan and Epsilon would send opposite message, that it's OK for the team to have cheater, if he gets caught they'll just swap players.

How should they investigate it? Please, explain. There is just no way it's possible to prevent players from cheating if they want to risk doing it. You don't see team in real sports banned if one of their players doped as long as that team didn't provide doping for banned player.

Although you do see players fined for it. If I was the owner of Titan or Epsilon I would be looking into how I could go after KQLY or SF legally, since they just cost my organization a lot of money (plane tickets, potential revenue, etc...).

How fucked up is that?!? Considering that every team that qualifies already gets a shitload of money from the sticker sales and 2 out of these 4 teams will qualify (and mouz had pretty good chances to beat these teams), this is close to a sham. Absolute disgrace. Funny enough that the guy who made that decisions is probably Swede and that all 4 times he invited are Scandinavian teams. Let alone the fact that myXMG got already a pretty questionable invite (they could put myXMG in that qualifier too, together with mouz).

I'm not a fan of that mouz team, actually I was always one of the most vocal people here when it came to criticizing their players, but I respect their dedication and all the work they put into their dream. They dropped out against Planetkey, exactly like mouz. And unlike mouz they got beaten pretty hard. Yes, they dropped out one stage latter, but 3DMAX and LC dropped out at the same stage as mouz, and unlike mouz they dropped out against teams who couldn't qualify either. The decision with myXMG was already questionable...they should actually also participate in that qualifier..

Safe to say that if Valve paid to fly these teams out for the qualifier then no other teams competing in DHW have suspected cheaters.
