iBP bring back DaZeD; desi out

iBUYPOWER have re-enlisted Sam "⁠DaZeD⁠" Marine who will replace Derek "⁠desi⁠" Branchen.

With a lackluster performance at DreamHack Winter, iBUYPOWER have turned once again to the services of DaZeD. The North American IGL was briefly on the line-up of Torqued but left yesterday amid speculation of joining another team.

DaZeD returns to the iBP fold

In November, iBP parted ways with DaZeD and Lucas "⁠steel⁠" Lopes over a desire to look in a "new direction." Although the new squad with desi and Nick "⁠nitr0⁠" Cannella made some initial headway at DreamHack Winter, they were still forced to concede a group stage exit after losing to PENTA.

At ESEA S17 LAN, iBP played with a stand-in in the form of Eric "⁠adreN⁠" Hoag and were able to make it to the consolidation final, but ultimately dropped two maps to fnatic and lost the chance to reclaim their S16 championship.

The team's decision to re-enlist DaZeD is expected to take advantage of the player's leadership skills. Tyler "⁠Skadoodle⁠" Latham had the following to say over the addition:

"With all personal issues aside, we plan to take this team to the very top and to represent NA with flying colors. As for desi being removed, it was not due to performance issues. desi is a well-rounded player and deserves a fair chance with a top team. We wish him luck," said Latham.

Watching skadoodle stream, he honestly doesn't seem as anti-social as people make out to be. He was pretty lively with his teammates, and seemed like a really layed back chill guy, maybe he just isn't quick to make calls in promatches because he may just be super focused on his own game

I like this lineup more than the old one. Steel has shown himself to be a moron while also being oblivious to being one.
