Spencer "Hiko" Martin has applauded Valve's decision to ban all those involved in a match-fixing scandal.

The North American CS:GO community has been taken by storm after Valve announced bans for seven people involved in a huge match-fixing scandal, including five professional players.

Spencer "⁠Hiko⁠" Martin played alongside three of the players in question in ex-iBP for a few weeks before leaving the team after it was announced that they would be skipping MLG X Games Aspen.

Hiko believes ban is justified

In a post on Reddit, the former Cloud9 member writes that the bans are justified and reveals that he is currently assessing his options, together with Tyler "⁠Skadoodle⁠" Latham.

"Skadoodle and myself will be looking at our options in the coming days and deciding what our next best move from here will be," he wrote.

"It's a shame what happened to those guys, and even more a shame they would be willing to risk their professional career just to win skins.

"They definitely deserve what happened to them, and I will not associate myself with these guys any longer."

This is about match fixing. VP on the other hand bet against themselves after the game was over and they lost. They didn't throw, but after the game was over they saw it was still bettable on lounge so they betted on LDLC. It was stupid, but nothing compared to match fixing.

Shahzam joined C9 not too long ago and people already want him removed. It's a pity that people think the "pros" suck ass when they, the people who say "Team X should cut person Y" are not anywhere close to being at the top of any CSGO scene lol. Also, you need to realize that a team with 5 mad fraggers won't do much. You need people with good personalities and leadership skills. Not to mention, a team like C9 already get along pretty well. Why ruin months or years of bonding only to pick up other players who are considered "mad fraggers"?

It is. Swag, AZK, Dazed and Steel were Top8 talents in NA. They were among the very few NA players who had a shot at consistently competing internationally. C9 is not gonna do better than what they have already shown. There is no upside. For other teams to catch up to the level ex-IBP had its gonna take a while if it happens at all. Deserved punishment but still a very sad day for the NA scene.

Catch up to what level? NA CS will always be right under EU. NA CS will stay at the same level it has been for 15 years. I know. Ive been there for the 15 years. Its a hobby here and frowned upon by the general public. Swag and Dazed were top8 talents. Dazed barely in that group. There are still going to be the same amount of qualifiers and american teams attending events. Its just going to be different players. With the same mediocre results. Upsets here and there. And I obviously dont think there is a skill level gap. But there most certainly is a teamwork gap between EU and NA. Like I said, its a hobby here.

2014 has a lot of CS problems including hackers, what a rough start for 2015, at least the NA scene. TBH, even though they do deserve the banned, I think they should get a second chance but each player should have to pay some sort of fine ranging from $1500-$2000 and maybe take their skins away if we feeling like being real assholes. LOL, imo this title is so misleading since people accuse hiko of cheating all the time, thought he was done in and almost wept for the NA scene. Good to know it isn't so and to the betting scandals, it's a little sad, but we all gotta eat somehow, and IBP chose screwing their fans.
