Piter to Katowice qualifier

Piter have defeated EYESports 2-0 in the ESL One Katowice CIS Qualifier and advance to the offline qualifier taking place between February 14-15.

Piter fought their way through the consolidation final, where they took down the Kazakh squad of Exgaming with relative ease, to face off against EYESports for a spot at the offline Katowice qualifiers.

The final was largely a one-sided affair however, with Piter relying on a higher coefficient of individual skill to take down EYESports 2-0: 16:4 on de_cobblestone and 16:6 on de_mirage.

In particular, Jan "⁠wayLander⁠" Rahkonen and Savelii "⁠jmqa⁠" Bragin stood out with strong individual plays and fragging ability.

Piter are now qualified for the ESL One Katowice offline qualifier, which will take place between 14-15 February, at the Angelo Hotel in Katowice, Poland. Accomodation for the offline qualifier will be provided by ESL and Valve.

There Piter will be joined by seven other teams who qualified from offline brackets as well as eight invited teams.

Il copy what I wrote in the match between piter and eye: Pick randomly any top30 ish team from the EU online qualifiers, and they would realistically crush both these teams. Funny how Poland and CIS get their own qualifiers even after all the viable teams from those countries have been invited (NaVi, Hellraisers, VP and ESC), while the rest of Europe needs to scramble and fight over a whopping 4 spots in a BO1 single elimination qualifier. A lot of teams that are WAY more talented than these teams wont get the opportunity to get to the offline qualifier, this seems more detrimental than beneficial for the overall scene. These are just some teams that busted out in the EU qualifier that almost certainly would destroy these two CIS teams: LGB, K1ck, nEophyte, x6tence, Flipsid3, Temp.no, chosen, Paranoia, MyXMG, Playing Ducks, eXeS, Awsomniac, Planetkey Dynamics, GPlay, No Problem!, Volgare, OblyRekt - and the list continues. I absolutely get that ESL wants to cover more geographical area, that is very positive in terms of increasing exposure for the game, but when they already have invited all the best teams from these countries, why are they still having special qualifiers for them?

you are not right, because you underestimate piter guys. they are playing on really OK mid-eu level and like 24/7. also you wrote so many REALLY shit teams lol

Have you even watched them play? They crushed everyone at the qualifiers (while dat lost in OT to EYEsports and went to lower bracket)They also played really well at that LAN in moscow some days ago.

Adress the facts I am pointing out instead of making this a personal thing. But when you mention my team like that in some kind of ironic fashion, we did play vs Piter in the faceit qualifiers a couple of weeks back and demolished them(16-6), before we in the end lost 18-21 to ESC and 18-21 to GPlay. So what is your point exactly?

Good point .. (Sigh). I am just adressing the fact that the European qualifiers should have gotten more slots instead of making a CIS and Polish qualifier when they already have invited all the good teams from the respective areas. (DAT are unable to attend ESL events with s1mple so I am not counting them into this equation.). There are at least 20 European teams that are way better than Piter, but wont get a chance due to the severely limited slots in the European qualifier.
