GPlay, KILLERFISH qualify for APM

The Bulgarian GPlay and the mainly-German KILLERFISH have become the two teams to qualify for the Acer Predator Masters powered by Intel league, joining ten other teams for the regular season.

The Acer Predator Masters tournament is hosted by TaKeTV together with Acer and Intel and will feature a total of twelve European teams competing from April 23 to August 2 for the league's $40,000 prize purse.

The league features all twelve participants facing off against each other in head-to-head matches featuring a best-of-three round robin format. The top eight sides will then travel to Krefeld, Germany for the offline season finals taking place from July 30-August 2.

In a massive bracket that saw as many as 256 teams competing, illustrious teams such as Atlantis, CPLAY, INSHOCK and others fought for the two qualifying slots.

In the end, on one end of the bracket, the Potuguese k1ck (notably playing without Ricardo "fox" Pacheco) squared off against the German team KILLERFISH, who have suffered some setbacks of notoriety this year but continue to grow as a team.

GPlay secure themselves a spot in the Acer Predator Masters

Despite a closely contested series at first, the third map of de_mirage (ending 16:2) saw the series easily go KILLERFISH's way and freed up the first qualification slot for the team.

On the other side of the bracket, GPlay (who have been winning a steady trickle of online tournaments and building their reputations likewise) contended with the Russian USSR (who recently finished in 5th-6th place at the CIS LAN Championship).

In the end, despite both maps being strongly contested by USSR, it was the Bulgarians who powered through to victory and the second place in the Acer Predator Masters league.

As a result, the final list of twelve teams is as follows:

Germany PENTA Sports Germany mousesports
Sweden Team Acer Denmark Copenhagen Wolves
Denmark TSM Norway LGB
Null element HellRaisers Finland ex-3DMAX
Denmark dignitas Poland Gamers2
Bulgaria GPlay Germany KILLERFISH

The $40,000 Acer Predator Masters League will presumably be under way shortly as we are already under the original time frame of the league's beginning; hot matches will be added as they arise.

How is it that TSM manage to participate in seemingly every tournament there is, yet they are the ones that have to focus most on school and other things?

I believe that most of them will finish at least a part of their educations this summer. I at least recall hearing something like that. In general they seem to participate in a lot more tournaments after FeTiSh's departure.

And yet teams like NiP and fnatic only have time for a select few.

NIP takes more vacation than the time spent at tournaments. Fnatic participates in almost every tournament there is,apart from a rare few that they dont play in.

Well that's up to the teams themselves. I think that a lot of tournaments is a good thing for TSM, as I think they loosen up a bit during playoff games, as there'll be a tournament next week they could win as well. Dunno, but I think the pressure they put on themselves are higher if they only attend 5 tournaments a years, instead of like 20.

This year, they are participating in a lot of events...last year ,they dodged so many events due to school and stuff.THey even qualified for ESEA lan final and did not go.

Such easy money for TSM. If they played this tournament 100 times, they'd win it 95.
