Former Made in Brazil and compLexity player Renato "nak" Nakano has revealed that he is weighing up the possibility of playing CS:GO competitively.

Renato "⁠nak⁠" Nakano stepped away from the game in mid-2012 after finding himself unable to commit to the hours required to practice and travel with his then team, playArt.

It was the end of an illustrious career that had reached its peak in 2006, when he helped Made in Brazil to win ESWC. Throughout his playing days he also won other international events, including shgOpen 2007 and the IEM V American Championship.

nak wants to play competitively again

After taking part in a CS:GO showmatch earlier in the month, nak revealed tonight that he has borrowed a computer from Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo, who is currently living in Los Angeles with Keyd Stars, and added that he maintains the desire to play competitively again.

"Thanks, Fallen, for lending me your computer," he wrote on Facebook. "Will I play again? Yes. Will I put a team together? I do not know.

"Do I want to attend events? Yes. Will I stream? Of course!"

nak's announcement comes little over six months after Raphael "⁠cogu⁠" Camargo, one of the most accomplished Counter-Strike players in Brazil, revealed that he was interested in playing competitively again despite failing to impress in late 2012, when he attended the ESWC finals and DreamHack Winter with ProGaming.TD.

Yeah it would be nice but obviously won't happen. I am happy were seeing the north American scene grow so much recently. Pyth, keyd, nak, maxakie, Lil robben and I imagine many more will come.

dude, that was at the beginning where all pro players from brazilian 1.6 were very disliked to play the game and also the game was quite small. Fallen for example was one of those guys, who hated the csgo awp and he only joined csgo for real 1,5 year after the game started. Now he is the captain of the most successful brazilian team in csgo history.

What's his age? This just comes to show how bad their professional lives are... They gave everything to CS scene too early, when there was no future and no money, and now they are in a "mess" professionally... They just quit and comeback and quit and comeback and (loop) whenever they smell money. Yeah, CS as an eSport is evolving, turning the retire age from 28 to 32+, I still can't see a wealthy future for them all after that, there's not enough space for all streamers / casters /coachs, and being a TOP player after 30yo is still to be proved.

I'm not assuming that he will quit his job, I actually assumed he has no fulltime job, since he already quit in the past and is now considering the comeback. I assumed that if he wants to comeback, he wants it to be in a top-player mode, and that requires time, that I assumed he currently has a lot since he thought on coming back... No need to call me no-brainer for that reason, I'm not against him.

Anyway the Brazilian scene will be a power house in the future. Loads of kids playing all day, CS is huge there. The problems are bad internet connections, bad computers which contributes to the last point: Many people still playing 1.6 (FalleN contributed to that with his GamesAcademy. He made money from thousands of kids playing 1.6 there meanwhile he played CS:GO knowing it was the future. In some years you'll see young BR stars recking international scene.

I think the problem here is investments in tournaments,i don't see people here complaining about internet or his PC,the problem here is that pro teams does not have many tournaments to compete,this kinda breaks the motivation of the community but we are still alive and kicking :D.

I get your point but the main thing is popularity. We do have some cs players but not as many as we had in 1.6 days. LOL is dominant here nowadays, but the fan base of csgo is getting bigger, a lot of oldschools coming back and young kids starting the game aswell, which is great to see.
