LGB clarify Mystic accusations

Kristoffer "⁠Mystic⁠" Michelsen has been filling in for LGB for over a month now as the team had to find a player to replace Håvard "⁠rain⁠" Nygaard, who had garnered interest from Kinguin.

The Norwegian talent, formerly of partyastronauts, was virtually unknown outside of his homeland when he was picked up by LGB, but he has been able to prove his doubters wrong with a string of convincing displays against top European sides.

However, doubts about the player were recently raised on a forum thread on HLTV.org as he was linked with a Steam account that has been VAC banned since the start of 2014.

As a result, LGB decided to conduct an investigation into the matter and contacted Valve, which ended up clearing Mystic of any wrongdoing as the player "is not associated with the account's VAC ban".

"We have been in contact with Valve in order to get an overview of the rumors surrounding Mystic prior to signing him," Hicham Chahine, CEO of Diglife, said in a statement.

"The investigation carried out shows that the player has been subject to false accusations, and is not linked to the account.

"We will always do our outmost to ensure that all our players hold the highest professional standard, and we would not have signed Mystic if the findings of Valve proved the rumors correct.

"We have done everything in our power to make sure the player is “clean”, working with the publisher of CS:GO.

"At last, we kindly request media and the community to show caution when writing about rumors as these can potentially be damaging to players and organizations in the events of them not being correct."

LGB's statement has all but confirmed that Mystic is on the verge of signing a permanent deal with the organisation. Preben "⁠prb⁠" Gammelsæter has also been playing as a substitute, but his situation remains unclear.
