HellRaisers have announced that they will attend the StarSeries XIII finals with Dmitry "hooch" Bogdanov as a stand-in.

The 28-year-old Russian will step into the shoes of Mihail "⁠Dosia⁠" Stolyarov, who is unable to travel to Kiev due to problems with his documents, which saw the team pull out of the CIS ESWC qualifier earlier in the week.

Dmitry "⁠hooch⁠" Bogdanov, who made a name for himself in Virtus.pro during 1.6, is currently plying his trade in ACES after playing for PiTER, with whom he attended the offline qualifier for ESL One Katowice.

hooch will fill in for Dosia in Kiev

He is no stranger to HellRaisers' players, having played for the team as a substitute on two occasions since the start of the month.

"I’m very glad and thankful to HellRaisers for the opportunity to replace Michael at this tournament," he said in a statement.

"The entry list is very interesting and I hope I will do my best to help the boys perform decently. See you in Kiev, guys."

HellRaisers, who will face Gamers2 in their first match in Kiev, on Friday morning, will attend the event with:

AHAHHAH WHAT

i cant understand... HR forfeit ESWC CIS Qualifier (on Moscow) because of document problems with Dosia. Dosia is Russian and the full HR squad is currently living at Moscow (correct me if i'm mistaken)... Today it says that Dosia cant play starseries in Kiev (Ukrain)... So Dosia cant go to Ukrain, it makes sense because of the mini-war between countrys... What doesnt make sense its why cant dosia play on his own country??? (Eswc cis qualifier)

it's realy hard, believe me, I have friends in Russia. Travel for them to, for example, Great Britain is sick. Sometimes they just say "no sorry, next time you got visa but not this time"

as someone else said, hooch is also russian and is able to travel, so what gives? also, I saw in another thread that traveling between Russia and Ukraine is still possible, but I don't know anything about that so I'm just going off what others have said

Or a customs officer having a bad day and venting it on Dosia's visa application. I also have a Russian friend that has experience with both Ukrainian and Belarus customs, and he confirmed that it's like a lottery. Some days you get the documents without any problems, other days they make your application a hell and in the end just deny entry without any reasonable explanation. Most people are already used to it, mainly due to the cooled down international relations between the countries. PS. He also says the Ukranians experience the same difficulties when they want to travel to Russia, so the lottery goes both ways....

Exactly! Sometimes it depends who you speak with and if the person you speak with is having a bad day that could unfortunately be sometimes enough to screw you and make you stay where you are so you wouldnt be able to travel.... just like that....

All depends on Ukrainian government. They easily can say to you "No", without any cause. On the other hand you can easily travel from Ukraine to Russia without any troubles. That's called a WAR. :D
