stfN handed ESL ban

UX Gaming Stefan "stfN" Seier has been banned by ESL pending the outcome of an investigation.

Details about this case remain scarce as ESL has not yet commented on the reason that has seen Stefan "⁠stfN⁠" Seier receive a provisional ban running until June 2025.

The news came as a huge blow to UX Gaming, who looked to have one foot in EPS after finishing runners-up to mousesports in the third pre-season cup.

It is still unknown whether this issue will affect UX Gaming's team as a whole in ESL, but the German organisation quickly reacted to the news by releasing the player from his contract.

"On Monday, we celebrated the good performances from our team in EPS, and then, next morning, we received this message," UX Gaming Competitive Gaming Operator Thomas "tomseN" Zwietasch said in a statement.

"Personally, I am extremely disappointed. We knew from the start about the rumours and the history of every player on the team, but we also knew about their quality.

"Nevertheless, we still decided to take them under a contract. That is why it is more difficult to handle such an incident.

"The fact that we are now involved in an alleged fraud cause makes us sad and mad at the same time.

"We thus part ways with Stefan with immediate effect.""

contracts have a tendency to change from whoever writes it. I don't think there is a template that every Org uses(could be wrong though) But if they have a way out where they can do things without the proff of cheat even being out there, to me that's just a bad contract for the players side. Maby he's not on the fulltime level(i can live of the money from cs) But we are still talking grownup stuff here where people can be procecuted for wrongdoings. Just switch this person out with any fulltime pro player and see if that's the right move to do. For me the anwser is always NO. :) sorry to hear about your case, next time make sure the contract do you justice(ofc if you didn't do anything)
