Kinguin win Gaming Paradise Qualifier

Kinguin secure the final qualification spot for the $50,000 Gaming Paradise tournament by defeating FlipSid3 Tactics 3-0 (starting from a 1-0 map advantage, 16-4 on de_inferno, and 16-8 on de_cache).

The Gaming Paradise is a $50,000 tournament for eight teams which will run from September 6-13 in the town of Portorož, located in southwestern Slovenia. Six teams are directly invited to the event, while the first offline qualifier located in Belgrade, Serbia was clinched by GPlay.

The second closed qualifier, occurring "in-house" at a villa near the Slovenian seaside saw four teams travel to Slovenia in order to secure the final qualifying spot.

In the double elimination bracket, the first of the teams to fall was the Hungarian Rock team, followed by Gamers2. The grand final saw FlipSid3 moving through the consolidation final against Gamers2 to take on Mikail "⁠Maikelele⁠" Bill's Kinguin once again.

Using a stand-in of Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač due to Alexander "⁠SKYTTEN⁠" Carlsson's severe case of illness, Kinguin entered the best-of-five grand final with a 1-0 advantage. The first map was seemingly a breeze for the European mix as they crushed Yegor "⁠markeloff⁠" Markelov & co. with a score of 16-4.

Any hopes of a close series were dispelled on the next map, de_cache, and although FlipSid3 put up more of a fight, it was ultimately Kinguin who walked away the victory: 16-8.

Therefore, teams confirmed for the $50,000 Gaming Paradise so far include:

NiKolinho was in GOD mode this tournament. This kid's gamesense, movement, prediction, aim and team awareness is just insane. He's s1mply (pun intended) from another planet. Moreover, his English has improved a lot seeing the short response he gave in the post match interview. And to think that the kid is only 17 or 18 years old.....wowzes. He's got "FUTURE STAR PLAYER" written all over his forehead. I still can't fathom why mouz benched him as a sub. Message to Kinguin: grab your chance while it is still possible and make mouz an offer they can't refuse. Recruit NiKo before any other team does. Let him beast alongside ScreaM and rain. The fact that he'll be a member of Team Kinguin will up the viewer count with thousands and thousands more of any event this team attends. And it is in the interest of Kinguin (the company) too: Team Kinguin's fanbase will increase with a multitude in no time. Which means only one thing......CHA-CHING!

but they gave a lot of freedom to NiKo, that's why he performed so well. Scream usually or rain play his role, and ScreaM was playing SKYTTEN's role. I dunno man, but you can't just look at a team and say, hmm maybe take this guy and put this in, might not be the fit sometimes. -fox +NiKo would be viable, but I don't think a newly formed team would ever think of roster changes, specially since it's their second lan event and they wont it. Let's wait till ESL Cologne qualifiers to make any judgement about the team.
