GMX joins forces with melty

Robin "GMX" Stahmer, who has been part of a match-fixing scandal with Epsilon at the beginning of the year, has joined forces with melty eSports Club.

At the end of January 2015, Robin "⁠GMX⁠" Stahmer was released from Epsilon, which incentivized the player to "blow the whistle" on his team, giving light to what became a match-fixing scandal.

All Epsilon players excluding Adil "⁠ScreaM⁠" Benrlitom were then given indefinite bans both by Valve and ESEA, which, according to GMX's statement below, are to run out in February.

GMX is ready to move on

After nearly eight months, the Frenchman has been given the chance in melty's lineup, who have tried their luck in the European pre-qualifiers for the next major, DreamHack Cluj, but were unable to pass round of 16.

The player himself took to Facebook to apologize to both his former teammates and the community, and shed a little more light on the move:

People that know me from before, know that I'm still currently banned, and thus until next Febuary. It seems like forever. For a CS fan like myself, this punishment has been hard on me. But I totally understand & respect the decisions that were taken against me. This forced withdrawal from the professional scene has allowed me to see where I'm at and I wanted, at the dawn of a new adventure, to extend my sincere apologies.

Controlled by my emotions and animated by a spirit of revenge, I went way beyond the limits, and I disappointed a lot of people. I would like to apologize to all the CS: GO fans, to the community, and all the other people that were indirectly concerned with this story. I would also like to ask Uzzzi, b1ggy, fxy0 et scream to accept my apology. I have understood now, and I regret this episode.

Today, I have a chance to move on, and leave this sad story behind me, I and wish wholeheartedly to prove to everyone that I'm determined to redeem myself. people haven't forgotten, and so that I refresh your memory, what VP did was somewhat different. VP lost a game vs LDLC. (It was the infamous match where KQLY goes back into the server with $10000 and starts dropping for everyone when he should have $2xxx) Due to the problem I wrote above and the DDOS problems, FACEIT decided to replay the match the day after. The thing is that VP and LDLC played that match offline on the same day to avoid DDOS issues and the result and match would be rebroadcast at a later date. VP lost once again and decided that they should take advantage of the fact that bets were still open and betted on LDLC. Don't know about you but for me there is a difference between throwing a match on purpose to win skins and lose a match fair and square and try to take advantage afterwards of the betting system. Still I don't understand why you replied with that, being that both GMX and VP acted wrong and as far as I care they could both leave the scene altogether.

I don`t understand all the hate, we should thank him because he exposed himself and some other match fixers. With his actions pro players will think twice before trowing a match.
