Cloud9 to iBP final over Luminosity

Cloud9 have advanced to the grand final of the iBUYPOWER Cup after seeing off Luminosity Gaming by a 2-0 scoreline (16-9 on de_cobblestone and 16-7 on de_dust2).

The first map of the series, de_cobblestone, began with Cloud9 taking a commanding 6-0 lead and putting Luminosity in danger of getting blown out. The Brazilian team then responded and finally managed to pick up a round, but they were unable to build on that win, which left their economy in a dire situation.

The game continued to follow the same pattern as Luminosity were simply unable to string rounds together and build up their bank, and so it was with little surprise that the scoreline bloomed to 12-3 by the end of the half.

Things went from bad to worse for Luminosity after the restart as Cloud9 enlarged their lead by picking up the pistol round, but the Brazilian team crawled back into the game with a triple CZ kill from Marcelo "⁠coldzera⁠" David. It was only then that the former KaBuM side were able to get some rounds on the board, reducing the deficit to 7-13. The following two rounds then went Cloud9's way, putting the North American side on the verge of victory, which came shortly after.

Next up was de_dust2, where Luminosity came out the brighter by picking up the opening two rounds. However, once Cloud9 bought up they were simply unstoppable, with the half ending in a surprising 13-2 scoreline.

Cloud9 piled even more misery on Luminosity and won the first two rounds on the CT side, and even though the Brazilian team would still manage to string a few rounds together after buying up, there was no stopping the Cloud9 train.

You were never better lol. Getting to playoffs doesnt make you instantly better than c9 because c9 have made playoffs before too. Once they pull a G2 they will be, but of course they never will.
