Casters for EU Minor revealed

PGL has revealed the full on-air team for the European Minor Championship.

From January 29-31, PGL's new studios, located in Bucharest, will stage the European Minor Championship, featuring eight teams from across the continent, who will be battling it out for their part of a $50,000 prize pool on top of a spot at the offline qualifier for the MLG Columbus major.

The tournament will feature a double-elimination group stage, with the winners matches and the decider games being played in a best-of-three format. The top two from each four-team group will advance to the single-elimination, best-of-three playoffs.

Joining the previously announced quartet of Matthew "Sadokist" Trivett, Henry "⁠HenryG⁠" Greer, Richard Lewis and Joona "⁠natu⁠" Leppänen will be Janko "⁠YNk⁠" Paunović, which means that the on-air team for the event will consist of:

Matthew "Sadokist" Trivett - Caster
Henry "⁠HenryG⁠" Greer - Caster

Joona "⁠natu⁠" Leppänen - Analyst
Janko "⁠YNk⁠" Paunović - Analyst

Who would you call the favourite? E-Frag? I haven't a clue who edges who in these tier3+ teams. To me they're more interesting than watching the same old names over and over.

Hard to say. HR is a big name but they have not impressed me lately, losing to CG who was unknown back then. E-Frag is probably the best team at this event but they're attending with a stand-in as dream3r has a VAC-banned account. Penta is another big name, but with 2 newly signed non-germans, I don't expect much from them. My predictions: GroupA: 1. E-Frag, 2. Penta (Maybe LDLC) GroupB: 1-2. HR/CSGO.One/DenDD Winner: E-Frag Hope this gives you some insight

Cg are trash.They wont win even 2 rounds on lan.This draken guy is the most blatant cheater i ve ever seen.The battle for the spot will be between csgo one,hr and e-frag.Other teams might surprise in a single match but they are not expected to win 1st place.

just played some faceit pugs against him.He was not even hiding it. Also bubble from e-frag stated before a week on his stream that he thinks that there is no way draken is clear and he is a guy who is very chill and rarely says something bad about any other player in the game

Yeh no dream3r is a massive blow for them and problem why I am not sure they can win or not. I don't think Penta will adapt fast enough.. I fancy HR/LDLC or DenDD over them in playoffs.

Yeah much fresher, it seems its been the same top 5 teams of every major in the last 3 years. It's not even funny how bored I am of watching CS and I love the game... I really hope for one of these teams, or someone in NA/SA or Asia to mix things up! I think LDLC will do well, at least the semi's.

Nothing against the country itself but look at the Cluj-Napoca major viewership was much lower than Cologne because the time zone made it inconvenient for NA viewers. I'm sure it's a nice place but it sucks for anyone west of Great Britain who wants to watch these tournaments.

Romania is only 1 hour behind Germany and 2 hours behind the UK. I'm pretty sure that the viewership improved during the weekend but you can't compare a major that's taking place during the summer vacation with one that's taking place when the school had just started. And the time zones for the Major in Columbus will suck for Europeans as well so expect a lower viewership over there as well. I don't think that the NA CS:GO viewership is anywhere close to the European one, but I might be wrong.
