EnVyUs survive CLG scare

Gameshow Global eSports Cup Finals started out with a match between EnVyUs and CLG. The best-of-three series' first map was de_overpass and the Frenchmen chose the T-side. After losing the pistol, the American side were able to get the lead 3-1 and extended their lead to 8-3 with both teams winning in 1v1 clutch situations.

EnVyUs' hot four round streak at the end of the half brought the score to 8-7. The teams exchanged three rounds at the start but the Americans took control after that and managed to close it out 16-12 with Josh "⁠jdm64⁠" Marzano's triple-kill.

The story in the second map (de_train) was different as the French side seemed determined to go to the third map. CLG's CT pistol round and the second round win seemed like a good start to them but after that point, EnVyUs controlled the economy and they were in front with a 10-5 score.

The T side of CLG didn't help them much, losing the pistol and the first gun round put them in a nine round deficit (14-5). Although they picked up a round, it didn't have any meaning as Vincent "⁠Happy⁠" Schopenhauer & co closed it out 16-6 and moved on to the third map.

CLG started the third map with a boom, once again on the CT-side. This time, they also picked up the first gun round and gained a big advantage on the last map of the series when they led 5-0. The French side’s first round came at this point but CLG answered right back with their own (6-1).

EnVyUs figured out their opponents as they usually do and tied it at 6-6 and had a 5v2 advantage in the thirteenth round but James "⁠hazed⁠" Cobb and jdm64 had other ideas, earning the round with hard work for their team. A 4v3 after-plant advantage in the following round was blown up by the French side as CLG retook the site and defused the bomb while Kenny "⁠kennyS⁠" Schrub was still alive.

The exciting half ended 9-6 in favor of CLG but EnVyUs won the pistol round without losing a player. CLG couldn’t win the second round but killed four of the EnVyUs players and made a big dent in their economy. The advantage was capitilazed by the Americans as they got the third round which caused a double-eco from EnVyUs.

CLG were in front 12-8 by the time EnVyUs were able to buy proper weapons again. The Frenchmen's agressive A-main setup paid off with a round win and they proceeded to a three AWP setup. Just when their opponents were running away with it, hazed came on top of a 1v2 clutch but it didn’t matter in the end as EnVyUs closed it out 16-13 with Fabien "⁠kioShiMa⁠" Fiey's sneaky defuse and won the series.

EnVyUs will play the winner of FlipSid3 vs. Dignitas match in the winners' match and CLG will play the loser of the same match for their tournament life in an elimination match.
