Gambit defeat Renegades to qualify

Gambit have joined mousesports, G2 and SPLYCE in the first half of qualified teams for MLG Columbus 2016 after a clutch-filled victory over Renegades, 16-11 on de_train.

After Gambit kicked things off by overpowering the A bombsite in the pistol, Justin "⁠jks⁠" Savage replied with a triple in a 2-on-4 in the following forcebuy, but Rustem "⁠mou⁠" Telepov took it back with an ace (and a teamkill) attacking the lower bombsite.

At 5-1 Renegades picked up the pace and snatched four rounds away, including one thanks to a 1-on-1 clutch by jks.

The next two rounds were exchanged between the two, as jks came out on top of another clutch, this time a 1-on-2 on the back of Yaman "⁠yam⁠" Ergenekon's triple with the AWP. Losing the next round was detrimental for Renegades' economy and they lost all remaining rounds to switch over with a measly six rounds on the CT side.

AdreN and mou put up a great performance

A convincing pistol round and a couple of unsuccessful forcebuys by the Australians pushed the CIS-based team to 12-6, but heroics from Karlo "⁠USTILO⁠" Pivac and Chad "⁠SPUNJ⁠" Burchill helped claw it back to 12-9.

Doubles by newcomer USTILO and jks added two more rounds to the scoreboard, but Gambit didn't take long to take it back with three in a row, including two clutch situations by Mihail "⁠Dosia⁠" Stolyarov and mou, to reach match point at 15-11. One more clutch round later, Gambit could celebrate qualifying for the $1,000,000 major at 16-11.

HellRaisers keeps struggling to qualify for a major year after year, while some of their ex players builds a new roster and qualifies right away. Glad that Dosia, mou and AdreN left kucher & ANGE1 behind. We now know who's the problem in HellRaisers.
