Columbus groups C and D revealed

The remaining two groups for MLG Columbus 2016 have been announced, as the other half of the teams learned their fate at the next major.

MLG have finished revealing the groups, which were based on seeding pools that depended on the teams' results at DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca and MLG Columbus Main Qualifier.

While at a major no group can be considered easy to any of the teams, but it seems that group D teams have received the short end of the stick, as it features Natus Vincere, Virtus.pro, G2 and Cloud9.

Ex6TenZ's G2 will fight Virtus.pro, Natus Vincere and Cloud9 for a spot in the playoffs

Group C, on the other hand, will offer two teams that are in the current top five of our world ranking, Astralis at number three and Envy as the fifth-best team in the world, joined by the improving CLG and Gambit.

From March 29-31, the following four groups will be played out at the upcoming major, MLG Columbus 2016:

Actually it is possible. Titan and Ebettle were in the same group for Cologne qualifier and were in the same group in the actual tournament.

That's what I thought before Cologne too. I guess the difference here is that in all the major before they used a random draw, I guess this time MLG used their brains and didn't do it randomly... Or they got super lucky and happened to make the groups pretty even.

Except for the fact that G2 has the toughest group of them all. Group D is a group where realistically al teams could make it out if they play well. I'd even put G2 as the worst of their group. Have you seen G2 recently? They look solid compared to when they went under the titan name. They have improved a lot in fragging and teamwork. VP in a big slump and G2 is getting better but I guess G2 has looked good before and still fucked up at a major.

Hiko IGLed for liquid before, they will be fine. And Hiko will be practicing IGL for the rest of the time unless they find a coach. Nitr0 had only a week or so to prepare before qualifier.

Group A shouldn't be too surprising. LG will likely come out on top. The question is really between NiP and Mouse. NiP can do really well or not show up. Mouse will be Mouse. I think you pretty know what they bring so it would be a matter of seeing if NiP is up to the task or not.
