Counter Pit League Season 2 FinalsAstralis pummel Torpedo
Astralis convincingly beat their Swedish neighbours of Torpedo 2-0 (16-6 on de_cache and 16-2 on de_dust2) and are now in the Counter Pit League Season 2 semifinals.
The Scandinavian showdown between Astralis and Torpedo was the third semifinal of the Counter Pit League Season 2 finals and pitted the second best team in the world against a Swedish team that had been making waves on the second to third tiers of European Counter-Strike in the past few months.
de_cache was the first map of the series and the Danish Astralis showcased how fearsome their CT-side site holds can be, as Finn "karrigan" Andersen powered his men to a 13-2 half, which included Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth getting a crucial 4K round on the first gunround of the map.
Astralis went generally unchallenged in the series against Torpedo
Joachim "darti" Fornstedt and his teammates were unable to muster much momentum on the second half either; while Astralis won the second pistolround and were then promptly force bought against by Torpedo, it was a matter of mere rounds before the Danish team claimed victory on the first map with a 16-6 score.
de_dust2 saw a very similar outcome, albeit with even more dominance. Astralis raced ahead to a 14-1 first half that swept aside the Swedes completely, and despite Torpedo taking the second pistolround, the series was over in the blink of an eye as Astralis claimed victory with a 16-2 score.
