MLG Columbus Day 1 final photos

The first day of play at the MLG Columbus Major wrapped up tonight at the MLG Arena with every team in the competition playing their opener. Here are the best photos from the second half of the day.

The afternoon started with CLG beating Envy, the first of two French teams to fall today, with a 16-8 final score on de_cobblestone. The second Group C match saw the Danes from Astralis take down Gambit on the first of three back-to-back Train maps in the last matches of the day.

Group D pitted the last North American team, Cloud9, against Natus Vincere who went on to take the map 16-9 despite starting with a 6-0 deficit. Last but not least was the return of the plow as Virtus.pro only gave up a single round to G2 in the day's closer.

lol they barely won against mouz thank god only niko carries in that team... if there were at least 2 good players, LG would have been phucked

Niko is the most overrated player ever. Yes he has incredible aim but he takes soo many unnecssary risk and is playing so greedy that it sometimes hurts mouz when he overdoes it and goes down, causing a disadvantage for mouz

I hope this time they can make it. My favourites (FaZe) will not pass group stage unfortunely :( So, I will support LG instead :)

Ahh yes, that's the same time that I lost faith in the team too :( Looks like a bunch of fraggers running around with their heads chopped off half the time..

That's what I think too, Aizy is really a good fragger, most of the time he is 1st but I think that in terms of teamwork he just broke the team.

Yeah, Aizy in old Dignitas was better than Aizy in FaZe and it sucks to see that because he was like NiKo is now on Mouz.. constantly carrying and still losing.

Not a very creative photographer, it's always very much the same. Why not include pics of the venue, the crowd the staff etc?

Only the playoffs (at the Nationwide Arena) will be open to the public. This is pretty much a closed venue with players, MLG staff and press.

Maybe the camera operator (shouldn't consider him/her a photographer) shouldn't have that 24-70 (or whatever the glass is) at 2.8 if he/she can't focus properly. Focus is missed on like 80% of photos, just close the aperture a little bit, bump the ISO (screw noise/get/borrow a better body) and shoot at 4. You'll be able to focus better.
