Full team list for DH Open Austin

DreamHack has announced the complete set of teams for the upcoming ZOWIE Open event in Austin, Texas.

From May 6-8, Austin's Convention Center will host the first DreamHack stop in North America, where eight teams will duke it out for their share of a $100,000 prize pool.

Initially, DreamHack had allocated some spots for European teams, but due to a busy event schedule these sides ended up declining their invitations.

Tempo Storm invited to DH Open Austin

As a result, DreamHack decided to invite three more North American sides - Tempo Storm, Splyce and NRG -, who will join the previously invited trio of CLG, Liquid and Luminosity and the two qualified teams, Cloud9 and Selfless.

This means that the following eight teams will compete at DreamHack ZOWIE Open Austin, next week:

United States CLG United States Liquid
Brazil Luminosity United States Cloud9
United States Selfless Brazil Tempo Storm
United States Splyce United States NRG

The tournament will kick off with a double-elimination group stage, featuring best-of-one and best-of-three clashes. The top two sides from each group will advance to the single-elimination, best-of-three playoffs.

To purchase tickets to DreamHack Austin, head over to eventbrite's website.

That tournament happened very shortly after the major which LG won. Everyone knows that after a major/big tournament that a team wins, their performance always dips for a bit before it comes back, so their performance at Malmö wasn't that shocking imo, although they could have made it to the quarters. I think that they'll be back now seeming as it's a while after the major, so they'll probably be feeling motivated to win another tournament.

true unexpected things happen, and a lot of these teams can play at a high level but often flop. TS seem to be getting more and more consistent unlike any other team not named LG. I think TS will make it but most tournys have crazy upsets so we will see

While they definitely deserve to be invited over Splyce, every other team attending is superior. Their results in NA so far have been completely underwhelming. I'd expect jks and azr to join NA teams once their contracts expire (if they are willing to stay in NA).

They need to get their act together, I don't know what's wrong but something isn't working. Individually speaking jks, ustilo and azr are some of the best riflers in NA and yam is a solid awper, the only other aus igl which could come close to spunj is Snyper and I'm starting to think that change may need to happen.

unfortunate that OpTic aren't attending, but this is still going to be an interesting event with the debut of C9 under Slemmy's leadership. Also Selfless are here to show that they aren't just a group of 5 onliners - mitch and Nifty especially have something to prove. Should be relatively easy for LG.
