John "wenton" Eriksson has agreed to join fnatic on a temporary basis to replace Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer, Preparation have announced.

The 23-year-old will act as a stand-in for fnatic until Olof "⁠olofmeister⁠" Kajbjer has made a full recovery from his hand injury, which has kept him out of action since the quarter-finals of MLG Columbus, on April 1.

Initially, fnatic brought Niclas "⁠PlesseN⁠" Plessen in as a substitute, a move that many deemed risky, given his lack of competitive experience. After eight official maps, the former RUZKI member had yet to post a positive rating with the team, prompting fnatic's management to look elsewhere for a better fifth man.


wenton will play for fnatic as olofmeister's replacement 

John "⁠wenton⁠" Eriksson, who played for teams like a2g, WinFakt and H2k Gaming during the final years of 1.6, has been plying his trade for Preparation since February, when the organisation acquired the Fan Jävla roster.

His departure comes as a huge blow to Preparation as the team are trying to qualify for the European Minor Championship. During the first qualifier for the tournament at DreamHack Tours, Preparation took 9th-16th following a 1-2 defeat against ENCE in the Round of 16.

"I want to thank Team Preparation for the time being and the chance they gave me," Eriksson said in a statement.

"But this is not an opportunity which comes along every day and Preparation respected it enought to release me.

"I have had a wounderful time with all of my team mates but everything has to come to an end.

"I apologise for the incredibly bad timing and I wish them all the best in the future and especially in the upcoming qualifiers of the Dreamhack minor."

wenton will make his first appearance for fnatic in less than an hour as the Swedish team will face Astralis in the ESL Pro League.

fnatic's active roster now consists of:

For a lot of players out there it is all about getting the chance and there are so few teams which would actually be an upgrade to the teams he played on and those top tier teams take in so few players (in average two players a year). Of course wenton is talented, otherwise he wouldn't be picked up by fnatic. The same goes for PlesseN, who just wasn't ready for it yet.

That's something Fifflaren insinuated to justify for himself why such a good player could repeatedly reject his old baby who everyone loves except twist. First of all, fnatic have only made roster changes twice ever. Olof has no relation to twist, they're not friends and haven't talked since LGB privately. So you know for damn certain he was never in the conversation to be the second man to join in 2014 with olof. Moreover, twist was rejecting other teams because he just wanted to play with pronax. On his team. So if they ever offered him while pronax was still there he would accept in a heartbeat. He said the thing about pronax in an interview with Aftonbladet.se. Lastly, you can be 100% sure that they would never in a million years offer him over Dennis. No on e in fnatic knows twist or has any relation with him while Dennis did. PS. Flusha didn't even mention him in his shortlist of players they would get to replace olof if contracts were irrelevant.

By having watched hundreds of hours of his streams as well as him playing with his friends on other streams, like REASTEN's. Pair that with my good memory and there you go. Over hundreds of hours, you will obviously have talked about almost everything there is to talk about because viewers are constantly asking you questions. And so obviously, he's been asked about twist as well. The answer was always just in the tone of 'I don't care much about twist' or 'I haven't known him in a long time'. Just very dismissive. I know a lot about who's friends with who in the Swedish and Norwegian scene, and twist is just in an entirely different clique of people compared to olof. I'm sure they might have exchanged a few words at some point, but never once have they ever played together on streams voluntarily or anything like that. Whenever they've been on an FPL team they've barely acknowledged each other, etc. And when olof has been asked about him, he's been super dismissive with no real opinion on him. Because they don't have a relation. If you know much about KRiMZ/olofm/dennis you probably know they never had close ties to twist and cype from the LGB days. They brought them in purely because they were better and less of a pain to play with than maikelele and skytten.
