ESL releases IEM Katowice aftermovie

ESL has released an aftermovie from the IEM World Championship, in Katowice.

Season 10 of Intel Extreme Masters came to a close in March with the World Championship, at Spodek Arena, in Katowice, where 12 teams from all over the world battled it out for $250,000 in cash prizes.

With a 3-0 victory over Luminosity in the grand final, fnatic crowned a fantastic run in the tournament, picking up their last trophy to date.

Relive fnatic's victory in Katowice

You can now relive the best moments of IEM Katowice 2016, including Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's amazing clutch against Na`Vi on Overpass, in this nine-minute long aftermovie, which also contains footage from the League of Legends and the Starcraft II competitions.

That's the game that started it all. You must have been too young when SC/BW came out.

"Nah I'm 19" LOL so you were probably born in 1997 while SC came out 1998 :D. So you actually were pretty young and you still are.

SC/BW was the first competitive game to gain worldwide popularity while CS remained Eurocentric. While CS professional scene was still centered around big LAN tournaments like the CPL, SC already had salaried players with leagues, tv broadcast, etc. They were the first to show competitive gaming could be commercially viable.

They were the same as CS. Their pro scene was just centered around LAN tournaments. The players income was based solely around tournament winnings. Team orgs only give players uniforms and maybe sponsor their travel expenses and tournament entry fees. That's it.

Ofc it was just centered around lan tournaments, it was the late 90s/early 2000s lol, do you honestly think the Koreans in SC got paid salaries? People just exploited the Korean players at that time. Maybe later players like boxer etc got salaries. Why did so many do matchfixing lol, SC was popular mainly in Korea, NA and EU mostly played quake/ut/cs then warcraft/dota.
