X players form Heroic

Another player-owned organization has emerged as the Danish players of X founded Heroic.

Heroic players have recently parted ways with SK and were playing under the name X. Michael "⁠Friis⁠" Jørgensen & company decided to create their own organization, following the footsteps of their Danish brethren who created Astralis.

The team is competing in the fourth season of ESL Pro League and will attend Power-LAN taking place in Denmark. They also qualified for DreamHack ZOWIE Open Bucharest and StarLadder i-League Season 2 Finals.

Heroic is formed

The players released a statement in which they said they believe they have found the correct mix of five players that could carry their ambition.

Today we are proud to announce the creation of our very own brand, Heroic.

Since the core of our team’s departure from SK, we have been focused on finding the correct mix of five players, that could carry our ambition to prove ourselves among the worlds best. Now, we believe we have finally found exactly that and our results are a clear indication that we are on the right path.

With the lineup settled and proven, the next step is moving on from our temporary name – Team X. We have all spent multiple years in the Counter-Strike game, across many teams and brands and we are extremely excited to finally be able to call ourselves co-owners of Heroic. We believe that the time has never been more right to take this step and we have never been more motivated to make this a global esports success. We will soon be announcing the partners who have helped make Heroic a reality.

We hope that all our fans will follow us on this journey and that we will welcome many new ones on board over the coming months. You can catch us playing live this weekend from the POWERLan in Denmark, where you will see the Heroic logo on our jerseys for the very first time.

Godsent and Astralis aren't exactly 'shitters'. Also essentially anyone can make their own organisation, you don't need a specific amount of money for it but the more the better.

astralis i could see. they were a world class team when they did it. godsent i thought aight, fair, they got some big names and will probably not be half bad. i was more referring to some shit like archangels and obv now these shitters right here, although admittedly they play in some big online leagues (in which they will probably fail tho).

1.1, 1.3, 1.6, CS:GO, doesn't matter. gla1ve was the third. He was with Western Wolves when they for a short period marked themselves as a top team beating both VeryGames and NiP (multiple times). And then Friis and moddii had a stint in fnatic in CS:GO, though not a top4 team they were still a pretty good team, both the swedish and danish for that matter.

I can recall one bo1 match which Western Wolves won over NiP from DreamHack Summer 2013 and thats it. Can't remember WW vs VG though.

That's really quite underwhelming. I get it if it's a team like CIS Virtus.pro, who could beat NiP in bo3s and they did so multiple times but WW has only won two bo1s and that's it.

moddii isnt a shitter, hes recently been a decent top level player again after initially sucking dick after his break. but friis is an absolute horseshit player, seeing as hes a fulltime awper and should be a carry player. valde is talented, the others are shitters like friis.

They get their money the same way that non-player owned orgs get their money; sponsorship deals. The team needs peripherals, so they go out emailing different companies asking for a sponsorship deal where the company invests in them by giving the team money & gear, and in return, the team-brand advertises the company's products.

its not gonna be done with a grand or two per guy.

u need a solid backing to run an org. and btw, if ur just gonna feed me with some bullshit that u have no idea about: half of twitter is wondering the same thing. u cant just found an org and its done by having 5 players. theres more people that u need to pay that do background work. theres salaries for everyone involved. travel costs, equipment costs, all sorts of shit. im not saying they dont have backing, im just wondering where its coming from.

aint organizers already paying for travel these days? they can just focus on playing and do what they can with spare time obviously living costs but who knows they might still be living with families or studying something for money or using savings

I'm not sure about it but organizers pay only for main event participants (invites and winner/s of the quals) but you have to pay for travel if you want to play offline quals. I might be wrong so don't yell at me, i got such info few months ago (maybe it used to be like that/maybe it got changed/maybe it never was like that)

travelling to events and living costs are hardly the only thing u need to worry about. an esports organization is a business and u need ppl to run the business. and i doubt that the players will be able to do that.
