Heroic fend off dig to win Power-LAN

Heroic defeated dignitas 2-1 in the grand final of the Power-LAN to win the Danish tournament (19-16 on Cobblestone, 11-16 on Dust2, and 16-10 on Mirage).

Dignitas, who used Philip "aizy" Aistrup instead of Ruben "RUBINO" Villarroel in this tournament, started on the T-side on Cobblestone and secured the pistol round with Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke's 1vs1 clutch. Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså and Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander stepped up in the second round to win a 2vs5 and HEROIC started a six round winning streak. HEROIC was not fazed after losing a round, securing six rounds in a row again. The last round of the half went to Dignitas but HEROIC led 12-3 at halftime.

gla1ve's 1vs3 win in the second half pistol round basically guaranteed a HEROIC victory but Dignitas mounted an incredible comeback to take twelve rounds in a row. HEROIC answered with two of their own to take the match to overtime and won the map 19-16 thanks to their performance in overtime.

valde & gla1ve make their marks

HEROIC kicked off Dust2 on the T-side and merely grabbed five rounds in the first half. valde & company's effort in the second half was not enough as Dignitas closed out the map with a 16-11 score.

dignitas took charge on the T-side on Mirage with René "cajunb" Borg's superior AWP performance but their opponent came alive to win the half 8-7. valde's triple kill in the pistol round gave the round to HEROIC who made it 12-8 after resetting their opponents' economy. valde & company won the map 16-10, and the series 2-1 to secure the Power-LAN tropy.

they just had vacations, came back a couple of days before their online matches vs x and navi, dupreeh said, almost zero of them touched cs, on those vacation weeks. in the meantime, x/heroic, have been in china, playing and bootcamping. ofc they got the better form...

they are not a merch selling company like Fnatic is (ast is not even selling their merch themselves, but through ESL Shop) Hence having a fanbase is a bit meaningless to sponsor. What is meaningful is how much they will get exposure AKA lans, which means they have to qualify or get invited. If they keep playing bad (for month/years) they will not get invited anymore and will hardly qualify, then they will loose sponsor and the Astralis brand would die. Though, i don't they will go that bad, since they are still Majors legends and they are still a top 10/15 contenders and they can put up a fight against Top 5 teams. So unless they become very shit and device and dupreeh leaves, i can't see anyway they would loose sponsor.

Astralis as an org makes money from several places - including sponsors, i'm sure.... but a few bad events is not going to change that. now if they drop off completely as a top team, that is a different story. but it's way too early to tell what's going to happen.
