C9 win CyberPowerPC Summer 2016

Cloud9 win the CyberPowerPC Summer 2016 Pro Series by defeating Liquid 2-0 (16-7 on Mirage and 16-7 on Dust2) in the grand final.

The CyberPowerPC Summer 2016 Pro Series was first announced in May and promised to be a $15,000 online North American region tournament with six teams receiving direct invites and two advancing through qualifiers in the month of June.

The two teams to make it to the finals of the two-day main event were widely considered the favourites, and Liquid quickly dispatched with OpTic (who were using Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz as a stand-in) in their semifinal whereas Cloud9 brushed aside Immortals.

Cloud9 secure another regional title

The first map of Mirage was Liquid's pick but the American-Danish team found themselves completely outplayed as the deadly duo of Jake "Stewie2K" Yip and Mike "shroud" Grzesiek powered the team through a 9-6 first half on the T-side and a dominant second half CT-side to close the first map out 16-7.

Cloud9's map pick of Dust2 finished with a similar scoreline as Timothy "autimatic" Ta's new team notched up a first half score of 11-4 and quickly managed to close out the map 16-7 to win the series 2-0.

This win marks Cloud's second online tournament victory this summer as the team also won the iBUYPOWER Summer Invitational 2-0 over TSM (although Alec "Slemmy" White was still on the team then).

Learn to read, stupid refugee! He compared C9 and IMT, but IMT won 2 International LANs this year against T1 teams, while C9 can't win a jokenpo match. This Brazilian lineup achieved in 3 months what C9 didn't in 3 years. It's a sin to put them both in the same setence.

They won that cevo tournament I think by beating HR and Navi IIRC but I'm pretty sure that was all the way back in the spring. Also, since they dropped Peacemaker, they got and remained worse off then they were before with him.

1 bad match vs 12 great matches. I agree they showed a sign of weakness, but I think they are proving that to be a fluke. At the LAN we will know for sure

Only NRG got double digits on the first day...even then they only got 10 rounds. C9 didnt let any other team get double digits for the rest of the tournament. It was pretty dominant id say.

Gratz C9, handled all teams easily. Lineup with autimatic clicks, severely need his fragging which they lacked with Slemmy (though IGL was a decent trade off). GL at Northern Arena!
