Astralis qualify for ESL One New York

The first six spots at the $250,000 event taking place in New York, USA were handed out via invitations and ESL later announced a European and a North American qualifier to determine the last two teams that would join the others at the Barclays Center.

FaZe started the closed eight-team European qualifier against GODSENT who they beat 2-1, going on to eliminate MOUZ 2-0 in the semi-final. Astralis, on the other hand, got victories over their Danish brethren from Dignitas, and the Frenchmen of Envy to advance to the grand final.

Peter "⁠dupreeh⁠" Rasmussen and Markus "⁠Kjaerbye⁠" Kjærbye put on exquisite performances on Mirage—the first map in the best-of-three series—as the duo posted 1.59 and 1.41 ratings, respectively, to lead Astralis to a 16-10 victory.

Astralis closed out Train 16-5 after a strong CT-side, taking the series 2-0 and qualifying for the contest taking place in the Big Apple.
