WESG EU & CIS groups revealed

The format for the WESG Europe and CIS Regional LAN has been revealed, with teams such as Virtus.pro, GODSENT and dignitas being placed in four five-team groups.

WESG Europe and CIS will bring 20 single-nation teams to Kiev, Ukraine to battle for a $75,000 prize pool and eight spots for the $1,5 million Global LAN finals in China.

The tournament will feature some of the worlds best teams such as Virtus.pro, Dignitas and Envy, some strong mix teams such as .Russia and .Norway, but will also give a chance for some lower tier teams such as Pixel and LGR to prove themselves on an international stage.

Considering their recent form, Virtus.pro will be strong contenders at WESG

The tournament will utilize a round-robin best-of-one format for the five-team groups, with the best team from each group advancing directly to the quarterfinals.

The second and third placed teams from each group will also go on to the playoffs, but will have an additional match to play in the round of 12.

it's the biggest tourney in terms of prize money in CS:GO history you fucking retard 800k for the winner, 300k more than a major. It's not even close. But like I've said the organizers have thrown out of the window a huge opportunity to make a memorable event by excluding teams like Na'Vi with their shitty rules. That is bullshit from WESG, they had a chance to make this tourney the best one in CS:GO history with all these qualifiers for all the regions and the huge 800k for the winner and they make it so teams composed by players from different countries can't play? So they're basically excluding some of the best teams in the world just...so their teams have a better chance? They have thrown out of the window one of the best opportunities there is to have a memorable event. Stupid rules gets you shitty tournament.
