Fragadelphia 10 with $30k

Fragadelphia 10 has been announced and will feature a substantially increased $30,000 prize-pool.

Fragadelphia's CS:GO tournaments, taking place in the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have been a long running staple of the grassroots scene on the East Coast of the United States, with versions 8 and 9 having recently both been won by Bee's Money Crew.

Taking place from January 13-15 in 2017, Fragadelphia 10 will up the ante with a $30,000 prize-pool, which is double the largest amount previously offered ($15,000 for Fragadelphia 8).

Bee's Money Crew mixes have won the last two Fragadelphias while coming from the lower bracket

The organisers are also hosting an online portion leading up to the event (which will be run by CEVO) that will dole out $4,750 in travel support and which will run from October 23rd to November 23rd. Registration ends on October 23rd and if you happen to be on a North American team, you can sign up via CEVO's event page here.

Another preamble to the Fragadelphia 10 event will be Fragadelphia 9.5, a one day local event at the LocalHost arena on November 19th that is meant for sixteen teams and will dole out $1,250 in prize money.

As for the main event in January, the prize-pool distribution will be:

1. - $18,000
2. - $7,500
3. - $3,000
4. - $1,500

Well yes I guess but considering they have to pay for expenses and all that and lets say the lose, then they only get 1500 and now you have to split it....like i guess its good but at the same time :/... Well gl to them tho

This event is exciting regardless of the prize pool. It reminds me of the old convention type tournaments.

They're trying to intice better teams to come because they'll be able to beat everyone else

Sure they might get more viewers on their streams with better teams, but since players have to pay (the article talks about "fee for players") some might not come because they might think they are playing for best case 3000$ or 1500$ (3rd place or 4th place). Overall i don't think it might change that much the numbers of team attending or number of viewers on streams but strong teams have lots of events to play in, smaller teams need smaller events to try to live out of the game. (on the other hand, completely "amateurs" teams might want to have the chance to play against a really good NA team also). But yeah having a team like C9 rekting everyone in that tourney wouldn't be super fun to me, if you want to invite a pro team, get a pro team struggling like Splyce (or even maybe CLG) that would have to fight quite hard to win the event though.
