VP and HR split maps in Moscow

Virtus.pro and HellRaisers split maps in Moscow (16-14 on Cobblestone for HR, 16-7 on Nuke for VP).

HellRaisers had an ideal start on the first map of the series, getting a 5-0 lead on the CT side of Cobblestone - Virtus.pro's pick.

The Poles recovered toward the middle of the first half, forcing their way into the B bombsite repeatedly and finding success against Martin "STYKO" Styk and Patrik "Zero" Žúdel.

Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski clutched a 1v1 versus Bence "DeadFox" Böröcz to get his team to 5-8, but the Hungarian was the hero of the last round of the half - picking up two crucial kills to stop Virtus.pro's A-split.

DeadFox was crucial for HR, with and without the AWP

After the switch, Snax was back to his Mag-7 antics once again, farming up kills and money after his team won the Counter-Terrorist pistol round - allowing his team to bring out the double-AWP setup in the first gun round of the second half.

That didn't work out for Virtus though, as HellRaisers overwhelmed the B site with numbers and got the round, but the score was evened out by Filip "NEO" Kubski and co. in the following one.

At 10-10, STYKO had a massive 4K that allowed his team to finally string a couple of rounds together and build up to a 14-10 lead.

In a classic Virtus.pro manner, the Poles didn't make it easy for Kyrylo "ANGE1" Karasiow's team and got back to 14-14 before HellRaisers managed to complete their upset.

Despite winning the pistol, HellRaisers couldn't establish themselves on the CT side of Nuke - with the help of a second round force-buy win Virtus.pro were quickly up 7-1.

After getting their second round on the board, ANGE1 and STYKO used an aggressive setup in the yard to shut down Virtus.pro and start to build a much needed winning streak.

The streak didn't long however, as NEO clutched a 1v1 with 6 HP to allow the Poles to end the half 10-5.

byali was on fire on Nuke

The start of the second half mimicked the first, with Vladyslav "bondik" Nechyporchuk's team winning the pistol but getting reset in the following round, not being able to close out the round versus a pistol-armor buy.

It was pretty straightforward from that point onward as Virtus.pro built up a strong economy and closed out the match 16-7 to go 1-1 for the series.

Bondik was insane on nuke, too bad the rest of his team were playing on controller. Virtus Pro allowed too many 4v3s on the CT side of cobble to slip by, causing a reset in the economy over and over again.

no but Fnatic or HR can catch them now, even if it's unlikely. They need to 2-0 Fnatic to be 1st for sure. 1-1 makes it possible for others to match them

it's hard to eliminate them when 3/4 teams go through to the quarters at least but who knows, I don't think so. The format makes it pretty hard.

SK needs to lose only a single map to either HR or fnatic to be eliminated now that HR won one map with VP.

Some of people are fucking idiots here, one game doesnt change anything, because they've lost one map they probably will qualify anyway and might win the whole tournament but yeah VP not #1. Btw. SK lost 16:0 to Renegades how come they should be #1? Just use ut brains people.

i think there are just as many people who think VP should be #1 as SK. seeing a lot of hate towards both teams. me, personally i only talk trash about VP because of ignorant comments and excuses from VP fans. but who is no. 1 is hard to say. The scene fluctuates so much at the moment, one day it could be SK, the other NaVi or VP.
