FaZe on to ELEAGUE playoffs

FaZe Clan won series against Immortals (2-1; 16-2 Mirage, 17-19 Train, 16-13 Overpass) and Cloud9 (2-1; 22-20 Mirage, 17-19 Train, 16-9 Overpass) to grab the second spot in group A and a place in the ELEAGUE playoffs.

The second day of ELEAGUE Season 2 started with Immortals taking on FaZe in the best-of-three group A elimination match.

The Nordic mixture of players in FaZe wasn't expected to do much at ELEAGUE considering their recent roster change, but they started the series with a dominant 16-2 win on Mirage, showing that they are not to be taken lightly in Atlanta.

Immortals stole back FaZe's home map, Train, with a 19-17 overtime win, but weren't able to close the match on Overpass.

After a strong Terrorist side, Finn "⁠karrigan⁠" Andersen's new team won the last map 16-13 to make it 2-1 for the series.

With the win, FaZe moved on to the decider match of the group against Cloud9.

After a dominant game versus Immortals, the European team picked Mirage - one of Cloud9's best maps, while the North American team replied in a similar manner by picking Train. As a potential decider, Overpass was left over.

Mirage was a marathon map - after teams ended both halves with tight 8-7 scorelines, double overtime was needed to decide the winner - with Håvard "⁠rain⁠" Nygaard's team taking the win in the end.

Cloud9 posted a strong CT side on Train, but struggled to close the map out and allowed FaZe to get to the third overtime of the day. In the end, Timothy "⁠autimatic⁠" Ta's display on the second map (40-22 K-D, 120.2 ADR, 1.70 Rating) was too strong for the Nordic team.

To decide the second team to go into the playoffs from group A, the action moved to Overpass. Philip "⁠aizy⁠" Aistrup got an ace in the pistol round to give his team a strong start, with Joakim "⁠jkaem⁠" Myrbostad, who struggled throughout the first two maps of the series, stepping up his game throughout the Terrorist half as well.

Jake "⁠Stewie2K⁠" Yip and co. failed to stop the relentless aggression of FaZe in the first half, picking up only 3 rounds as CT.

At 14-4, Jordan "⁠n0thing⁠" Gilbert got a 1v2 ace to keep FaZe off match point, Cloud9 picked up a couple of rounds more but their CT side was too poor to allow them anything more than that.

After an economic reset and a few eco rounds, FaZe managed to stop an A push from Cloud9 to seal the deal and win the map 16-9 - and move on to the playoffs.

I didn't say C9 was better. I said FaZe and C9 are at the same skill level. Ska wasn't this bad the last time C9 pushed FaZe out of the way. autimatic is more solid than jkaem but rain >>>>>>>>> redditor. aizy >n0thing imo but Stewie > Karrigan. Shroud and Skadoodle will never hit their peaks again. Nothing can maybe, stewie is atm, automatic now and then. Still Faze has more potential. Allu is a better awper then Skadoodle, jkaem on his peak is better then automatic imo as automatic hasn't showed much so far. Aizy on his peak is better then shroud, sure stewie is much better then karrigan but rain is by far the best player of those 2 teams as well.

Their past performance does not give insight into the future. For all we know, the next match, they could suddenly explode and 16-0 everyone. It doesn't give you the right to do that. You can say "realistically" though. But you can't imply it as fact.

Jkaem finally stepped up on overpass. WIthout his performance the score would be more even. he plaýed like shit on all other maps so i dont know really. keep him for the team spirit or switch him for kio? kio is far superior in skill and faze would have closed it in train without jkaem's horrible performance.
