OpTic KO's Heroic, on to final

OpTic have taken down Heroic at the Northern Arena semi-finals 2-1 (16-10 on Cache, 8-16 on Mirage and 16-4 on Cobblestone), thus moving on to play G2 in the final in Montreal.

Last time the two teams met was in fact at the previous iteration of Northern Arena, in Toronto where HEROIC came out on top of that quarter-final 2-1, so there was surely revenge in the air for OpTic.

First up it was going to be Cache and while the Danish side started out with securing the pistol round on CT-side as well as the first gun round, Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz's side kept getting on to the A-site and planting, meaning they could put pressure on the CT economy early on, and trading the rounds twice between the two sides meant that OpTic could equalise and take the lead 6-5.

The rounds themselves were all coming down to the smallest margins as one of them had the planter being killed on B and the bomb just happened to roll down the slope on the site itself to have the clock run out for the T's, while the very next had the defusing CT just barely expiring to a molotov afterbeing tagged. Neck and neck it went between the Danes and the North American side, though it was Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas's team to take the half 8-7.

Another day, another fine carry performance

OpTic took a crisp and clean CT pistol and despite losing the first gun round they could answer right back and reset the T's. This incident would continue to happen twice for the Danes, as they just barely came out of their round wins with skimpy buys, resulting in just small deficiency of utility and mixwell and company was on top of this and moved to a 15-9 map point,

Michael "Friis" Jørgensen tried to pull a magic trick by flanking into CT-spawn in the 25th round and thus helping his team to another round, the Green men could close out their pick 16-10.

Now on to the Danes' choice of Mirage it started of with a CT retake for stanislaw's squad, but a heavy second round buy with full armor and utility was called by Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer which caught off the defenders off guard, destroying their economy early and HEROIC could take a 3-1 lead.

Back on the full buys Tarik "tarik" Celik and co. again seemed to be on top of the Danish defaults, switching up their aggression and picks from both B catwalk and mid, consistently putting a spanner in the works for attackers and taking a 7-3 lead.

A solid team effort from Heroic brought back Mirage in their favor

Calling a pause, the Danish team were able to figure out the necessary adjustments and swarmed the A site as a unit, not giving the OpTic a chance to react. The story of the straight reset was looming again, but Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså stepped up in huge fashion in a 2v3 where his team had lost bomb control.

Having the momentum and the aforementioned player being in the spotlight once again in the 14th round, as he came out of a 1v2 after plant to take a quad, HEROIC could in fact put together their own streak to take the lead 8-7.

For the second half mixwell and co. did take the first gun round, but were then reset after a retake from the Danes that seemed implaussible, being locked out in the afterplant in market, but the team lived up to their namesake here.

Clearly fuelling their own confidence while OpTic seemed almost empty of strats, this lead to Andreas "MODDII" Fridh and the boys closing out the map in solid style 16-8 and now right back in contention for the spot in the grand final.

It came down to Cobblestone and CT pistol round went the way of the Danish side, but again they were facing bomb plants early on and lost a good deal of buying players, so after three rounds the Green men then put a Tec-9 supported buy to use as tarik took matter in his own hands with two fast entries on to the B site, and then closed out an impressive quad kill with a salvaged AWP.

Tarik reached his final form on Cobble. Completely.

A bucket full of agression was poured out from OpTic in the following rounds which the Danes could not find the answer to in any way. And it didn't help that tarik seemed untouchable for the whole time, most remarkably in the 9th round, bunnyhopping out from inside the B site, bomb dropped, 180 spinning around to kill his pursuer and then clutching out the afterplant on A site in the 1v2.

HEROIC was constantly on the back foot in every round, being shut out as the site anchors fell before they knew what hit them and could only squeeze out the 15th round for themselves to pull it slightly back for a 4-11 deficit.

Not being able to secure the T pistol meant that the time and buys were running out for valde's and company and backs against the wall against a revved up OpTic side was not meant to be. The North American side closes out the map emphatically 16-4.

Nice match by OpTic and Heroic, actually I was expecting Heroic to win and go final against G2 so we could see revenge match of yesterday but OpTic played so damn well specially on cobblestone. Lets see what happens on final.

I can't see why would anyone expect heroic to take this. Optic has a much stronger map pool. The odds were perfect.

They battled back and forth. and then OpTic decisively dealt the killing blow. KO doesn't mean that the exchange was short overall.

I wanna see optic win solely because I'm salty that G2 beat EnVyUs even though everything from the maps to the players was stacked in envyus's favor.

You retarded? NV let overpass go through, and the only reason it was close was bcuz G2 played sloppy. Overpass G2 75-25 nV Nuke G2 45-55 nV Dust2 G2 70-30 nV G2 is the better team and nV had tge odds against them lol

If only Optic played any good teams. If they win this wouldn't mean anything. Still cant beat top 5 teams.
