NiP breeze past IMT, to the semis

Ninjas in Pyjamas took down Immortals with ease (16-9 Dust2, 16-4 Cobblestone) to eliminate the Brazilian team and move on to the semi-finals of IEM Oakland.

The second quarter-final match of IEM Oakland pitted the young Brazilians of Immortals against the experienced, but not in-form Ninjas in Pyjamas. The Swedes picked Dust2 to kick-off the series, but the start of the match was fairly tight and the score was shortly tied at 3-3.

Adam "friberg" Friberg and Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund combined for three kills on the A long defense in the following round, forcing Immortals to go save the remaining equipment, despite being on the Terrorist side.

That round started a streak of rounds for Richard "Xizt" Landström's team. Henrique "HEN1" Teles's over aggression in an after plant situation proved costly for the Brazilians side, as the Ninjas punished it and managed a successful retake of the B site to make it 7-3.

The A long defense remained rock solid for Ninjas in Pyjamas throughout the CT side, with friberg having another standout performance in the position.

friberg was all smiles after locking down Dust2

friberg was all smiles after locking down Dust2

After a dominant 11-4 CT side, Ninjas in Pyjamas started the second half with a pistol round win and clutched the first gun round off the back of some classic GeT_RiGhT-Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg teamplay, making it 15-4. Immortals put up a bit of a fight on their CT side, but it was too little, too late as the Swedes closed out the first map 16-9.

Moving to Cobblestone, Immortals were favored to take the map and push the series to the third one despite a rough showing on Dust2, but their start on the CT side was far from ideal.

After losing the pistol round and the first gun round, the Brazilians were 5-0 down, but were looking good in the sixth round as Lucas "steel" Lopes took down three Ninjas in Pyjamas members on the B site defense. Unfortunately for Immortals, they weren't able to close it out as f0rest pulled out a 1v3 clutch to keep the pressure on.

Immortals looked out of their league in the series against NiP

Following the clutch, steel and co. picked up two consecutive rounds, but their economy was promptly reset as the Swedes picked up crisp entries on both sites to make it 7-2. Jacob "pyth" Mourujärvi was one of the standout players for Ninjas in Pyjamas, helping them end the half 12-3 with his +15 kill-death difference.

Xizt opened and closed the CT pistol for Ninjas in Pyjamas as they shortly finished the match with a 16-4 score line to take the series 2-0.

Grats to NiP, clearly they were superior and they breeze past Immortals but still I'm curious how would things work if Maikel was in roster instead of pyth after seeing pyths monsterous performance on cobblestone and to be honest was expecting better performance from Immortals but seems they continue choking on playoffs. Anyways FaZe vs NiP looking fun to watch as a revenge match of group stage, I think FaZe are favourites with their recent form but NiP can show their magic anytime anywhere.

Aimlock =/= cheats. Aimlock can be anything and is only a term referred to as an aim... lock... A snap-crosshair placement onto the player. You're thinking of "aimbot" for the hack. However, no, no-one was cheating at IEM Oakland.

I don't know...I personally believe that SK and Immortals cheat, but they could be a good team without cheats. Most people witch-hunt SK, Imm., Byali, and Flusha because Valve banned KQLY and SF out of nowhere.

Not against all. Imo, NiP struggle alot vs SK playstyle. Its a matter of matchup really, there are teams who naturally struggle alot more vs certain teams despite their skill-level. I remember ex-TSM struggling ALOT, like, ALOT vs NiP, and yet, they were beating teams better than NiP. Same with VP and Na'Vi. Despite NiP being a world-class team when they are hitting their shots, they just seem to fall everytime they face SK, despite taking maps off of them ocassionaly.

it's not just a specific player. A team like immortals may get out of group having some flukes in bo1. In bo3 playoff where pressure is higher, the real skill level reveals.
