ECS S2 Finals groups, schedule

The organizers of ECS Season 2 Finals have released the groups and schedule for the $750,000 event taking place from December 9-11 in Anaheim, California.

ECS Season 2 Finals will gather six of the top ten teams according to our current Team Ranking, as well as ELEAGUE champions OpTic, who are sitting in 13th place but are yet to receive points for their title, and Immortals (#11).

The eight teams have been distributed into two GSL groups, which will feature best-of-one's in the upper part with elimination matches and deciders played in best-of-three series:

Astralis	SK
Cloud9	Envy
FaZe	Immortals
OpTic	Dignitas

Two teams from each group will then move on to the best-of-three playoffs, which are scheduled for Sunday, December 11.

The first day of the group stage will be played without live audience, while day two and three will move on to the Anaheim Arena located at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Remind me again which is the 3rd relevant NA team? Oh right, it doesn't exist. Americas has 3 ok teams, C9, optic and SK. The 4th spot they keep getting (in ESL PL it's even 4th, 5th and 6th) are all wasted on shit like echo fox, liquid and immortals. There is at least 10 EU teams better than these. So why should EU not have more spots? Sure the top teams in Americas has improved, and that is great, but why should that give free spots to the shit teams that are miles behind? 5 EU and 3 Americas for 8 team tourneys 8/9 EU and 3/4 Americas for 12 team tourneys. That would net the least pushover/free win teams getting into the tournaments. (In the 12 team I can also accept 8EU, 3americas and 1Asia)

Oakland, where group A was so bad it didn't even manage to get any more teams to semi than Astralis that got there for free. Group A was a joke. And woho, they won a few BO1s. The only headline in group A was that Navi sucked.

So immortals that just got raped by NIP in Oakland are now better than them because? They beat C9 at the minor? Yay, Godsent won EU minor. No one cares about qualifiers. Clear overhype of immortals, but u are BR so I understand the heavy bias. But sure lets put up teams using your own "tier" system. Tier "SK": NIP, Dignitas, VP, Astralis, (NaVi) Tier "Optic": Faze, NV, (NaVi) Tier "C9:": g2, Mouz, (NaVi) Tier "Immortals": Fnatic, Godsent, hellraisers, flipside, gambit. Last tier is basically teams that can have a good run sometimes but are overhyped by their fanboys for winning low tier tournaments or qualifiers. Navi is in 3 places because they are so inconsistent at the moment that they can't be placed surely in one tier.

OpTic is not better than C9. if you're basing this strictly off of ELEAGUE, OpTic didn't even beat Cloud9 once in that tourney. in fact, their record against Cloud9 in 2016 is 6-18, winning a total of 2 best of 3+'s out of 9 matchups. get your s*** together and use better logic when making an argument.

Kind of hard for Optic to play a team that didn't qualify from one of the weakest groups. But optic did beat both the teams that C9 lost to in Mouz and Faze. Head to head isn't all, and all of 2016 doesn't say much, up until the very last month most ppl would have put C9 over Optic. Now is however a different story.
