Astralis defeat OpTic in Group A

Astralis advanced to Group A's winners' match following a 16-7 victory over OpTic on Dust2.

With William "⁠RUSH⁠" Wierzba picking up an all-headshot quad-kill in the first pistol round, OpTic got off to a 3-0 start as CT. Astralis then opted for a few quick strats, a B split and an attack towards A long, which yielded them four rounds in a row combined with two anti-ecos.

The next five rounds kept going back and forth before RUSH put up a quad-kill during an eco round, pushing the score to 7-6 in his team's favor. Nicolai "⁠device⁠" Reedtz then got two big openings in a B split, and Lukas "⁠gla1ve⁠" Rossander's triple in the last round tilted the scales in Astralis' favor who switched to the defence at 8-7.

Astralis put up a perfect CT side to take down OpTic

A close retake on the B bombsite went the Danes' way as well as the first gunround when they got an early advantage and saved a clutch attempt from Oscar "⁠mixwell⁠" Cañellas. With two more dangerous retake situations going their way, one on each bombsite, Astralis were up 14-7.

OpTic tried to switch up the pace with a quick attack towards long, but gla1ve and device stopped it without too much trouble and soon finished the map at 16-7.

damn, I was expecting astralis to win but not in this manner. I was the dink from tarik to mixwell near the end, was he flaming or hes just not in the zone rn? hmm

You must remember that this was the hardest team optic could of played first round (because of astraliss skill and hunger for revenge) and it was their worst map... plus they always perform their worst in the first match up at every event.
