OpTic 2-0 EnVyUs; to ECS grand final

The first semi-final began on Overpass, OpTic's pick. The last time Envy and OpTic played each other on the map was at ELEAGUE, where the North American team won 16-3, and this time wasn't any different.

OpTic came out on top of the pistol round as Terrorists, while the Frenchmen defended B cleanly in the buyround, but from there on Envy rarely had a chance in any of the rounds.

Even in the rounds where nV got the opening kill, they couldn't turn it into a round win, as Peter "⁠stanislaw⁠" Jarguz's team grabbed a 10-1 lead. OpTic then tried to speed up the pace and ran into a strong defense on B, but once they slowed down again they went back to winning ways on the back of Keith "⁠NAF⁠" Markovic's solo triple in a disadvantage.

The half ended at 13-2 in their favor and they also turned a 2v4 situation around in the pistol round due to picking off the bomb in connector. Envy then only won one of their desperate forcebuys due to Nathan "⁠NBK-⁠" Schmitt's double with a Deagle, while OpTic repeated the ELEAGUE result with a 16-3 victory.

Envy got the better of the first several rounds of Nuke, as they picked up the pistol round as Terrorists as well as one of the first three gunrounds for a 5-2 lead. NAF's triple with a Deagle threw a wrench in nV's anti-eco, which gave OpTic two rounds, while Kenny "⁠kennyS⁠" Schrub's triple on lower put Envy on 7-4.

However, with several solid defenses, mainly on the A bombsite, OpTic switched over with eight rounds. The North American side also turned the first pistol round around with an elaborate A split from heaven, main and squeaky, and survived the next two rounds.

The first gunround saw Envy saving two weapons, while an A split from three sides put OpTic at 14-7 and yet another big turnaround on the A bombsite due to stanislaw's triple gave his team match point. Defending the next few attacks, including a scary 1v3 attempt from William "⁠RUSH⁠" Wierzba, Envy began clawing back, but another A split gave OpTic the 16-12 victory.
