TSM add seang@res and ShahZaM

TSM announced the release of Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen and Pujan "FNS" Mehta, who have been replaced by Echo Fox's Sean "seang@res" Gares and Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan.

TSM's lineup change comes after a series of mixed results, including a 9th-12th finish at Northern Arena - Toronto, last place at iBUYPOWER Masters and third place at the Americas Minor Championship.

The organization believes the team "has become relatively stagnant since the departure of Timothy "autimatic" Ta" and as a result decided to bring in Echo Fox's former players, Sean "seang@res" Gares and Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan, who will take over in-game leadership and AWPing, respectively.

ShahZaM and seang@res join TSM

In the meantime, Canadian duo Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen and Pujan "FNS" Mehta have been relieved of their duties in TSM, with their future yet to be unveiled.

Due to roster rules, TSM will participate in the Mountain Dew League Global LAN Finals from January 5-8 with the previous lineup, who qualified via the North American division of ESEA Premier Season 23.

At the same event, TSM will play against Rush as a part of the promotion process for ESL Pro League. The winner of that match will go on to play Splyce in an online environment for a spot in ESL Pro League Season 5.

"Although we didn't end the year on a good note, I think these new changes will definitely help some of the younger players on the team improve. I want to thank TSM for everything they've done for me individually. I wish my ex-teammates nothing but the best of luck moving forward." Pujan "FNS" Mehta said in a statement given to TSM.

TSM now have the following lineup:

United States Hunter "SicK" Mims
United States Skyler "Relyks" Weaver
Canada Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken
United States Sean "seang@res" Gares
United States Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan

The new lineup will debut in the DreamHack Masters Las Vegas North American qualifiers, which are set to take place in January.

I love roca, but until he delivers on LAN consistently I'd put Twist ahead of him. Roca seems to crack under the pressure on LAN when he is up against equal/stiffer competition.

I think C9 beat more legitimate competition than immortals. Immortals always wins against other NA teams. Especially C9. C9 always gets beaten by immortals for some reason. Aside from I guess you could say dreamhack summer 2016, since NIP was still very questionable as a lineup during that time, Immortals literally won more than half of their tournaments because C9 was their opponent.

immortals beat faze, tyloo, navi, mousesports, g2, godsent... also they won every best of 3 in a while against c9. Tbh, the only reason that they are above immortals is because they won a bo3 against sk..

Ya but g2 doesn't look good, mousesports didn't look good, godsent doesn't look good, idk why you mentioned tyloo. C9 also faced 2 of those teams and smashed them. That leaves only Navi and faze. Everyone is unsure about navi but they do have the talent, but recently they haven't been playing well. Faze is doing pretty well so they have those 2 opponents going for them. C9 hasn't been playing well either I think people see c9 as better since they manage to get far in tournaments where the competition is arguably better. C9 probably would have been in the ECS finals vs Astralis if they didn't lose vs optic where a lot of c9 players weren't on point. Especially on cache where autimatic and shroud were playing awfully, (shroud had like 48 adr). Plus they did beat sk which is a giant accomplishment. I already told you that immortals always bests c9 head to head but then loses to teams c9 would beat, (envyus).

tyloo beat sk, in a way better shape then when c9 beat sk... i really think c9 is hyped af and they always just need to win 1 tournament to be figured as a top 5 or close to team... even if they manage to perform poorly for long periods...

Tyloo beat SK then proceeded to get stomped by every other team afterwards. Not to mention that happened nearly a year ago. April 2016 if i recall. They are figured as top 5 at times because they beat arguably the best team in the world at that time. They also only lost to teams in the top 5 in every single tournament afterwards aside from immortals. Yes they are overhyped, but at the same time, they do better internationally than immortals. I like both teams, I'm personally an Envy fan, but it's hard to see immortals better than C9 internationally. Domestically, they are better, because every time they do face off, they always lose to them. They lose to optic, optic becomes top 5. Lose to nip, they are in top 5, etc etc.

???? That still doesn't validate an argumentative discussion. You can't use future points, go back to a previous post that had different context, and then say there you go. That's like looking at KennyS now, going back to a thread where KennyS was praised as a god, and then using his results as of now to insult that form. Especially if the context was based on recent performances, which doesn't regard the future.

that isn't true, and sean is a better awper and fragger than semphis.

Look at sean before he stopped doing it. He gives up too much for being igl, as he never goes for any plays, people like him, ex6tenz(not pronax, he is too bad.) need to play with themsleves doing plays too.

you mean playing against na players only? He lost his edge, he is so inconsistant now, no telling if he could get back to that form.

there's no proof that sean is a better fragger. does shit even against t3 NA teams

I guess, but he has better high light clips with an awp.

If anything they frag at an equal level so then it comes down to how they impact the rounds. At the end of the day, seangares is a much better IGL and has a larger overall positive impact on a round to round basis. He is also more consistent as a secondary awper as you guys mentioned. Just like with Skadoodle gares will take peanut brain shahzam and position him appropriately so they can win rounds when he is awping. The rest of the roster speaks for itself they have a wealth of firepower and I am genuinely interested in how they will perform during their honeymoon period.

I'd say semphis is the better fragger abd the better T-side igl. sgares is a much better ct-side igl.

Actually not a bad team at all... Sick and Twistzz are very powerful fraggers, but they lack experience. The addition of such an experienced and revered IGL such as Seangares will make this team a lot more tactically sound and he'll be able to give the youngsters some direction. Plus the addition of a dedicated awper- Shazam, as inconsistent as he is there isn't anyone better who would be willing to play for a team like TSM. Relyks... well i guess he'll transition to more of a support role. On paper this team should work... but we'll see.

At first I thought "Why the hell would you get rid of Semphis", then remembered: On Cloud9 the two clashed on tactics mid-game. Shahzam is a good awper, but he consistently makes poor timing choices when the pressure is high. I think they'll have to hope it's not left up to him in the closing seconds, or that he'll suddenly improve given enough prompting. Seangres is one of the better anti-stratters there are in the game, but unless his kills improves it's going to be hard to see the improvement on the team over giving up FNS and Semphis. Both FNS and Semphis were good at kills. I think they have to hope Seangres strats makes up the difference.

-Washed up pros +Washed up pros ShahZam has been a disaster since C9 days and Sgares may be a good IGL, but he has same the same problems than pronax has, no firepower. I would say pronax is even a better player by a large margin and still we know he isn't fit for T1 competition. An org like TSM should be able to get a better team to represent them, this guys won"t achieve anything even on domestic competition.

you wanna know why sean gares cant get potential on those teams? cuz he always been around players like shazam, typical na delusional pro who think hes good lol, how da fuck would sean lead a team with players like shazam? same thing with c9 and echo fox, sean will try to play textbook cs put his teammates are too stupid to do that right xD
