LDLC & Heroic qualify for EPL S5

The European relegation matches for ESL Pro League Season 5 have come to an end, with LDLC and Heroic earning spots in the upcoming season of ESL's premier competition.

The matches that decided which teams were going to be in the next season of ESL Pro League were set to be played today, starting with the showdown between the French-Belgian team LDLC and PENTA - the rag-tag European mix put together to represent the German organization.

Ex6TenZ will be playing against the elite again

The series started well for Penta, who were carried to a 16-11 win on Overpass by their stand-in Tomáš "oskar" Šťastný. The Czech, who is still under contract with mousesports, put up 31 kills on the first map alone and remained a consistent contributor throughout the series.

Penta weren't able to close out the series on their pick, Cache, with Antoine "to1nou" Pirard having a field day on the map, and LDLC pushed the series to the decider - Dust2. The final map was a close one, but Kévin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans and co. managed to take the lead towards the end, grabbing a spot in ESL Pro League with a 16-14 win.

The series between HEROIC and Rogue followed, with the Danish-Bulgarian mixture edging the first map, Train, with a 16-14 scoreline. The Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer and co. replied with a 16-11 win on Nuke, tieing the score of the series at 1-1.

It all came down to Mirage, where HEROIC were off to a dominant 12-0 start before Rogue could get a round on board. With the massive lead, it was just a question of time before HEROIC would close out the series to remain in ESL Pro League for another season.

I don't understand why their spot is under review, the org dropped them, there was nothing shady, and the banner you're under doesn't determine how well you play against other teams.

The org did not drop them. The players chose to go elsewhere.

not really, dignitas became an NA org after 76ers bought them, and most of NA orgs want NA teams

The Players chose to earn more money be changing the Org or simply don`t renew their contracts. At least North (Org) should pay some Money for the Pro League Spot if the Spot is owned by Dignitas.

Ex6TenZ got kicked out of the tier 1 scene -> Gathered what little talent the french scene had to offer, made a team -> competed in Premier and utterly demolished the competition there -> Reached LAN finals as well as online finals -> Qualified for Pro league. If it were not for Ex6TenZ, there is no way LDLC would accomplish what they have. He deserves this, and I'm happy there will be 3 french teams in EPL!

Gotta admire ex6's resilience. He got kicked out, made a new team from nothing and with little resources to work and puff, back at the top leagues. Hope he gets some more firepower after the shuffle.

The dignitas spot should go to the players if they haven't disbanded or still have a 3 players core. The org should only get the spot in case of full disbandment.

Well... WHAT? dignitas? What dignitas? If the players - they're FC Copenhagen. If the org - just why? Btw how will G2 and nV participate in it after the shuffle? I mean, 1 of those teams will change at least 60% of their lineup, just HOW?

I really hope that the North players get to keep their spot in ESL Pro League. This "org based" nonsense is literally dumb, and if that is the case, 5 random NA clowns who didnt even attempt for a spot will get in there and be crushed anyway as Team Dignitas. That wouldnt make much sense to me.
