SK beat FaZe for 2-0 record

SK overcame FaZe with a 19-17 overtime win on Mirage to get their second victory at the ELEAGUE Major.

The second match in the second day at the ELEAGUE Major was between FaZe and SK who both won their first matches. FaZe started on the T-side and won the round, giving away only one kill.

The anti-eco was a scare for FaZe but Finn "⁠karrigan⁠" Andersen won a 1vs2 clutch to make it 2-0. Fernando "⁠fer⁠" Alvarenga got two opening kills in the fourth round but karrigan's triple kill won FaZe the 3vs5 (4-0).

FalleN & co. stood strong

Marcelo "⁠coldzera⁠" David went berserk in the following round and stopped FaZe, making the score 4-1. SK came close to tying the game but FaZe were able to plant the bomb on the B-site with Håvard "⁠rain⁠" Nygaard and karrigan's kills, extending their lead to 5-3.

fer and Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo responded with a 2vs4 victory but their economy got reset immediately in the next round (6-4). coldzera managed to defuse the bomb while rain was alive and SK trailed 5-6. karrigan, with his tactical prowess and his fragging, led his team to a 9-6 lead at halftime.

Philip "⁠aizy⁠" Aistrup picked up a triple-kill when SK rushed the A-site in the second half pistol round and led 12-6 after winning the anti-ecos. Fabien "⁠kioShiMa⁠" Fiey stepped up in the first weapon round, leading 13-6.

SK won a clean round with Tec-9s but lost the following one while trying to secure the B-site (14-7). coldzera kept his team alive with a 1vs3 clutch and fer's anti-eco ace meant the Brazilians trailed 9-14.

aizy and kioShiMa's A-site defense earned FaZe six match points. SK came closer each round and a 1vs1 clutch by Ricardo "⁠fox⁠" Pacheco made the score 13-15. Epitacio "⁠TACO⁠" de Melo won a 1vs1 clutch vs karrigan in the last round of the match to take it to overtime after coming back from 15-9.

FaZe finished the first overtime half 16-17 behind and SK completed the comeback and won the match 19-17.

karrigan was simply playing one of his best games at first half of the game, FaZe seems in other shape after he becomes one of their partners in crime but in the end they lost this because of their own mistakes. On other hand SK played well but to be honest they should leave awping on FalleN's hand, coldzera is good with awping but they doing same mistake fnatic was doing when JW should be awping but olof keep taking awp over JW, hope their end won't be same as fnatic.

Karrigan + kio @CT B was absolutely brilliant. Sk played their hearts out to turn this game around. SK sacrificed way 2 much removing the awp from fallen, I guess they wanted to throw a curve ball since they used their "expected" roles in yesterdays match.

There is so much to me said about this game, its actually hard to know where to start. First of all, the fact that cold and fer were on another level of skill, and SK still managed to play a lot worse than Faze. Also, how much better as a team Faze was. Much more organized and cohesive, at least until the epic comeback (or choke). SK relies too much on individual plays after a hard struggle. That is just bad for them. This line of play won't get them far. Fallen's in-game decisions just seemed horrible on the first half of the game to be honest.
