Astralis triumph over Liquid in Atlanta

Astralis defeated Liquid on Mirage (16-3) to qualify for the playoffs and brought a close to the ELEAGUE Major Group stage.

Astralis had a good start to the CT side on Mirage with a pistol round win, and Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen and Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye locked down the B site shortly after to make the score 4-2.

Liquid picked up another round by taking over the A site and holding off the 3v3 retake, but got reset shortly after by losing the following round. When the North American team managed their next buy, Astralis were able to read their play and stack four players on B, easily shutting down Nick "nitr0" Cannella and co.

Astralis finally make it out of the groups

Astralis finally make it out of the groups

With a 12-3 lead and Nicolai "device" Reedtz on 23 kills after the first 15 rounds, the Danish team was confident moving into the second half. Their poise showed in the Terrorist pistol round, when Astralis overwhelmed the A site and took down all defending players without a casualty.

After cleaning up the two following rounds, Astralis took care of the first gun round with ease, pushing the A site with a lot of utility to help them take out the defending players.

So proud of my fellow danes. Fantastic performance from them all. 11 Danish players represented in the Major playoffs is an astonishing achievement taking our nations population size into consideration. Also super impressed by device, i cant think of anyone as good as him across pistols, rifles and awp while keeping an insane consistency. Best hybrid in the game. No doubt. Looking forward to the coming days.

Id say simple is a better hybrid but that because of a vid i saw from thorin where he showed that simples awp kills and rifle kill were split 50-50, the vid was about jdm and was comparing the number of awp kills he had to other awpers and hybrids.

Considering NA is the majority of viewers as well as the reason majors exist, you don't really have the right to complain

Ehh Katowice the crowd was nice but in NA the production value is so much better in my opinion. Just smoothly running for everything and great transitions etc etc

Bruh how could you say that when katowice and cologne had much more viewers, also Europe population is a lot more compared to NA. Take for example Texas your biggest state (if we don't count Alaska) and France - same size but France has over 3x Texas population. And when the event is held in Europe, many countries from Asia and Africa are able to watch it with great time for them. I am not saying Na tournaments have to stop but nowdays 80% of all tournaments are held in US which is bullshit for EU viewers. It's been over a year like that it has to stop and have some balance!

Yeah I agree with you there that there has to be balance and maybe it seems like there were more viewers in EU majors but we're in the group stage and are hitting 800k viewers. That's really good. The playoffs can only get bettee
