Cloud9 edge NiP in Vegas

Cloud9 secure their first victory at DreamHack Master Las Vegas, as they win 16-14 against Ninjas in Pyjamas in Overpass

Ninjas in Pyjamas began as Terrorists and managed to win the opening round with a 2v3 by Adam "friberg" Friberg and Jacob "pyth" Mourujärvi. Despite Cloud9's effort, the Swedish team won the following rounds, including the first gun round with a fast B execution for a 5-0 lead, but the North American team secured the 5-3 scoreline.

Skadoodle did a quad and a triple kill in first half

Ninjas in Pyjamas had guaranteed the next round, but Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham had a big impact as he helped his team win two more rounds until he lost an 1v1 against friberg, which eventually led the Swedish to finish first half with a 9-6 scoreline.

Jake "Stewie2K" Yip's team won the second pistol round with his triple kill and, although they lost the first gun round, the squad continued to win rounds as they secured a 13-10 scoreline. Ninjas in Pyjamas managed to win four consecutive rounds but, as they lost against a semi-eco with a stylish play by Stewie2K, they couldn't get back to the game and lost for 16-14.

Key Moment: Although there was a 2v3 by Skadoodle and Timothy "autimatic" Ta that reset Ninjas in Pyjamas's economy, Stewie2K's 1v2 for the 14-14 scoreline was probably the crucial point that lead to Cloud9's victory

PotM: Jake "Stewie2K" Yip is definitely the Player of the Match because not only did he have 33 kills, an 122.2 ADR and an 1.47 rating, but also managed to secure one of the most important rounds of the game.

i agree his calls pretty much lost them a lot of crucial rounds.. but then again he won them some round aswell.. so stewie ??!?!? Btw if valens starts coaching them in LANs aswell, wont that help the team?

I don't think Valens will have a huge effect on C9 since nothing worked out when he coached TSM but we'll see what happens if he does join C9.

See this is what bugs me. People don't pay attention to coach roster changes. It makes a huge difference, cause calling is like 50% at least of how teams win.

His calling may be shit, but he wins C9 a lot more T-side rounds than G2 with ScreaM and RpK. If Stew, Ska, and Autimatic show up tomorrow, SK are going to have a long and brutal fight.

NiP have proven time and time again that they would rather die with BOT Pyth than play with Maikelele. They all have depression and autism and a happy person like Maikel will not fit in personality wise. That's also the reason why twist rejected NiP because he'd rather play with friends than with these autists.

Pyth did decent role with AWP. Friberg couldn't do much because he always take B as CT and C9 as T mostly went A. Xizt, well he kinda got mixed role as support and unluckily died first when C9 got aggressive. The one that I worry more is f0rest.

I used to be a very loyal NIP fan in 2013 and 2014. Friberg and Xizt at the old day were god. But we have to admit that Friberg and Xizt cannot follow the fast pace of nowadays competitive match, especially when so many young talents appear. That may be because of their ages. If we want NIP better, friberg and xizt must leave, and then nip can add some fresh blood. I don't worry about forest and gtr at all. They keep on fire through so many years. Their game sense are historical. They both are just like(and maybe better than) NEO, sometimes we may think they are not good again, but not only highlights all of a sudden but also the longtime performances form them tell us that they are still former themselves.

I think friberg did a bit better lately than early 2016. Xizt is inconsistent but he did his job. Did you see the neck patch on GTR's neck? Maybe he is still under treatment. One time he also put his hand in the air for several seconds, holding aomethong.
