CLG through to SL i-League S3

CLG are the second team to secure a spot at SL i-League StarSeries Season 3 Finals via the North American qualifiers after defeating Renegades 2-0 (16-8 on Train and 16-9 on Overpass).

With Immortals already through to the StarLadder event in Kiev after edging past Liquid in a three-map series, the battle for the final North American qualifying spot was contested between CLG and Renegades - two teams desperate for success.

The first map of the series, Train, was a complete blowout, with CLG cruising to a 13-2 lead on the Terrorist side. A trio of kills by Justin "jks" Savage in the pistol round gave Renegades a lifeline, but despite winning six of the first seven rounds of the second half, the Australians were unable to pull off a miraculous comeback, eventually losing the map 8-16.

Rickeh powered CLG to beat his former team

The second map followed the same pattern as the first as CLG took a whopping 11 rounds on the Terrorist side. After losing the pistol round, Renegades hit back on a force buy, and that was the start of a great run from the Australian side, who cut the gap to just three rounds. However, an ace from Ricardo "Rickeh" Mulholland in a force-buy attempt brought Renegades' streak to an end and powered CLG to lock down the map, 16-9.

There is no way this Renegades core stays together if they bomb out of groups at IEM Sydney (which is looking most likely). When Rickeh is able to destroy you on RIFLES something is wrong.

And this is what happens when you get rid of potentially the best AU AWPER and replace him with some tier 2/3 Swedish player that played for lele's meme team.

The Renegades players are so much better than the sum of their parts. It is time for them to move on. jks and azr are wasted talent on Renegades and would do great work in NA Teams. It is time for other AU teams to get the chance (also wtf is Winterfox doing with not even a top 5 AU team?)

Back in 2014, the core of this team used to be #15 in the rankings, so it's pretty sad to see them under-performing this badly. Shitty thing about the Pro League is that the organisation keeps the spot in the league and instead of giving the spot to ex-Winterfox (Denial), Winterfox kept the spot and signed admittedly 2nd tier AU/NZ players who admittedly should be performing better than this. A lot of people think that jks would be a good fit for C9 and azr being a good fit for Liquid.

This is perfect. Average players from Renegades with absolutely pathetic work ethic, discipline and drive getting schooled by Rickeh who is an average player but with the best work ethic, discipline and drive out of them. Very telling, and good to see. Back to the bin Renegades, you are an embarrassment.

Renegades arrived in NA at almost the same time as Keyd Stars (fallen & co). While Fallen got to the top, renegades just got worst :/

I think there was conflict with rickeh and the team.. either igl or awp.. he used to call from time to time for immunity i think.. good on him showing his potential in clg, hes no dog, the team dogged him and he was benched.. im sure anyone else wud have done the same, he needs a income.. Renegades -yam +hiko (igl) If renegades were to pay him enough for his interest, salary wise.. then replace atter with a free agent later when they become available.. Or cloud9 option -shroud (stream team) +jks Hes wasted talent in rng.. hes 21.. and has so much potential and stil developing.. same with ustilo.. good org renegades is.. just gotta get there team right.. look at the flaws.. obv rickeh could see them.. Or who goves a fuck.. they aint gonna change shit.. just keep losing..
