Immortals see off MVP

Immortals remain in the race for a playoff spot at the SL i-League StarSeries Season 3 event after defeating MVP Project 16-9 on Inferno.

The match began with Immortals finding a way towards A from halls thanks to a pair of kills from Lucas "LUCAS1" Teles but failing to control the site as Hyun-Pyo "XigN" Lee picked up three frags during the retake.

After planting the bomb in the second round, the Brazilians went for a third-round buy, only to get denied by XigN, who clutched a 1v2 situation. The Brazilians' force buy in the following round did not bear fruits either, which set them back even further as MVP strolled to a 5-0 lead.

With the game threatening to spiral out of control, Lucas "steel" Lopes went huge and opened up the MVP defence with three entry frags in A. In the following round, it was Lincoln "fnx" Lau's time to shine as the 27-year-old won a 1vs3 clutch with the bomb planted when a hard reset seemed to be coming his team's way.

Immortals are now 2-2 in Kiev

Immortals put together a small run of rounds and equalised the game at 5-5. MVP then won a round after denying Immortals' A split, but the Brazilians fought back immediately after and took nine rounds into the second half.

Now playing on the Terrorist side, MVP won the pistol round and the corresponding anti-ecos to restore parity at 9-9. But once Immortals got money in the bank they were simply far too strong for their opponents to handle, winning seven rounds in a row to secure convincing a 16-9 victory.

PotM: Lincoln "fnx" Lau gets the award not only for leading the stats table but also for winning the key 1v3 clutch in the first half which prevented an economic reset for his team.

Asia has so much people and they can't create one big team, who can compete with the west world.

So much people =/= good team You need to have the skill, interest, mentality and financial backing. Asia is all about Dota, lol and starcraft. Even russia/ukraine does not have 1 good t2 russian team (all 5 russian players).

Russia and ukraine got plenty of tier 1-2 players, Ukraine had Navi with 5 ukranian players in 2010 which dominated the world. Maybe they could build it again today. But CIS countries are very close to each other, speak one language, that's why many players now collaborate to create cis-teams. And you need to remember that for example China is 10 times bigger than russia in terms of population. That's like football or many other sports. Asians just can't do it properly.

Just be happy that China is not focusing on cs yet etc. or they would take over completely like they do in every sports they really try to.

Pathetic how lucky Immortals are, they get destroyed when they play good teams and then get matches vs the two worst teams in the tournament. Let's hope they get destroyed in the last game, so undeserving that they are still in this.

Yes, they got super lucky in the match ups. IMT got totally destroyed when they played good teams, the only reason they are not eliminated is that they got lucky in the draw. Sure 0-2 game should be vs a bad team, but to get MVP in 1-2 match when they could get VP/Fnatic/Gambit is just super lucky. And since they even struggle vs the crappy teams, they clearly show they do not deserv to advance and they only have a chance because of this stupid format.

But think in the other way, they placed the worst team agains the MVP Academy, MVP had the chance, other team would bee even worst to them man KKKKK

Really hard to understand that English, IMT played vs the easiest team with 0-2, and again vs the easiest team 1-2. They got two free wins basically. If they win the next game they will go to playoff by only beating one single good/ok team. That is stupid. The Swiss system is stupid. Edit: They will probably get CLG next so they can advance w/o beating a single good team.

Nice, i have to say SL coverage (stream, dates of matches and times) is great, you even set the match on the morning of EU time so they (koreans, and brazilians) could watch it in propably better timezone for them.
