FaZe are the first team of the fifth round to advance to the playoffs of SL i-League StarSeries Season 3 Finals after beating SK 16-7 on Train.

SK started Train as Terrorists with a fast B execution that turned out in FaZe's favor after a two-versus-two post-plant situation. The Brazilian players were able to buy in the third round, but their opponents' defense continued to prevail for four rounds.

After this loss, SK say goodbye to Kiev

Although Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo's squad secured the fifth round, FaZe won three more before SK managed to win four in a row to reduce the gap at 5-7. In the thirteenth round, Finn "⁠karrigan⁠" Andersen's team held B for their eighth round as the Brazilians picked the other two for a 7-8 scoreline.

Marcelo "⁠coldzera⁠" David opened up the second half with a USP-S double-kill but João "⁠felps⁠" Vasconcellos and Epitacio "⁠TACO⁠" de Melo were left alone against three. The first killed two, including a victorious knife duel, before he and his teammate failed to retake bombsite B from Fabien "⁠kioShiMa⁠" Fiey.

From that point, FaZe won their anti-ecos, the first gun round with a quad-kill by Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač and the subsequent four rounds to close out the match 16-7 with a flawless T-side.

PotM: Fabien "⁠kioShiMa⁠" Fiey is our Player of the Match not only because he had the most kills (24) and ADR (114.3), but also thanks to his two key situations during the map: a 1v1 versus coldzera in the first half and a 1v2 in the second pistol round.

Fallen is the problem

Simply horrible, I think it's more than time to make a change on this team, take the cue and put another one in its place. Taco has no aggression and malice in the game, can not hold 1 bomb ... I believe that they only won from the VP because they are in bad moment .... just awful. Fallen has to stop making videos and train more, delivered the game when he gave foot to coldzera in the background and watched firefighter along with coldzera.

The round when it was him and rain 2v1 TACO I was absolutely sure they were going to throw but they played it super smart and waited (which is not their usual MO)

FaZe looked worse on the groups than they really are, bc they were forcing cache all the time and only NiKo is comfortable of them in cache. Allu and kio sometimes do good there, but rarely. Karrigan is karrigan and rain does not seem to have good game in cache ever.

Maybe Niko was kinda quiet in the game but he had 5 entry kills which is the most from Faze, so he played a certain role.

VP and SK failing twice in Groups. They are certainly good friends falling hand in hand :D :(

It's better to have left now than to make ugly in the playoffs. What to speak of a team that plays against the best European teams and take suffocation of Tyloo that hardly plays against European teams. Fallen again disappointing, is already the fourth event followed that he is loaded by the SK team.

That victory against VP was the biggest mistake because they were in a bad moment, against Tyloo it was SK's obligation to win, when they played against G2 and Astralis already took a beating ... where we saw that SK was not prepared for this tournament.

I think they've been without a coach for a long time now. Fallen had been handling coach/IGL duties.

Dead is not a real coach, he is a manager and is covering the coach role only to have one

SK needs a dedicated and experienced COACH. None of the players are the real problem, but specially Taco and Fallen have developed to be the problem, Taco can not be in the position he is, he needs to change more... if they rush his bomb, he dies, if they go to the other bomb and he is left in any situation ox 1vsX or Xvs1, he will be shit. Fallen needs to train... he spends too much time watching demos and making youtube videos/streams. He has to go back to being a hardworking players, that trains a lot of hours each day, and he also seems to have lost of the control on the team. If you watch his stream, they are usually playing separatedely, and considering he streams a lot, there might not be enough 5-man practice

After fnx left, fallen's individual performance had a massive drop and he is yet to recover. I feel like he sacrificed to much to make room for fox during his stay as a standin and now felps. SK is being demo reviews to exaustion as well, they don't bring anything new for a while and it shows as they have been read like a book often. But SK will rise soon enough. #RunSKG

epic match. I never doubt SK's power, but seem they over located their position while they playing against same level rivals--FAZE. Karrigan's Team. Reasons could be: *As world champion, it brings more burden and more matches, players tired. *TACO are hardly show his flexible position changes as a Freeman. cause too much match and he tired. *While media talk how wonderful and legend of Fallen, after 2016 end half year, he hardly show his strength as 2015 he did. *Although Coldzera plays good, but after all, he can't always be the world best player all sec/all times.

Both fluke teams Virtus.pro and SK went out twice in groups. Nice.

FaZe is such a great team right now, so much potential. Happy they made it through groups. Playoffs look so great right now: Astralis FaZe G2 Na`Vi North HR hopefully we see IMT and either 1 of the 2 teams from the match after and this knockout stage will be amazing. format definitely needs a change around though, teams who win more matches shouldn't be punished with playing better teams and vice versa.

I am quite sure Swiss system requires some ranking/poolin, so it should have been so that teams 2-1 and 1-2 should be put againts each other in 2-2 situation. This was some weird shit from starladder to draw all the pairs randomly.

Sk era is over. Fallen has to be kicked. But he is the most important member of the team in terms of being a leader, not only in game. So I think they will not kick Fallen out of the team, so sad for them, as the rest of the players (cold, fer and felps are top players) won't have the balls to suggest they need to move on without Fallen. As they said when fnx left, they're friends but the team has to peform well.

Yeah, maybe. But in my opinion he does a good job as an entry fragger. You have to look beyond his K/D. I'm not a Fallen hatter, I think he is a very good player. He has skill and he is smart. But maybe he is not part of the top 5 brazilian players at the moment. I think Fallen has given a great contribution to brazilian CS and he should keep doing this. Spreading CS across Brazil and the world, helping people to play better, coaching, showing tips and so on...

I agree in parts, because I do not think that Taco does his job well, otherwise he does not handle the bombs, and when he's in retake he never wins 1x1 or 1x2... I like him as a person, but I do not think he helps the team as it should have been for a while. And Fallen, I think his problem is that he simply can't be igl and awper of the team anymore, they need a coach asap

they also should consider moving to Europe. The teams there have in general a much higher level than NA teams (NA has 2 or 3 top teams only). It would be better for them training with the best teams in the world.
