The draw for the first round of the Swiss stage at the SL i-League StarSeries Season 3 event has been made, with the six remaining teams having learned their fate.

With the fourth Swiss round in the rearview mirror, there are now just three playoff spots up for grabs, with big-name teams such as FaZe, SK Gaming and fnatic still not safe from elimination.

The fifth round will begin with a mouth-watering clash between FaZe and SK, respectively the No.3 and No4. teams in the world, according to our current world ranking.

NiP to face fnatic in a Swedish derby

CLG and Immortals will then face each other for survival in the tournament, with Ninjas in Pyjamas and fnatic taking the stage for the final match of the day.

Below you can find the schedule for the final round of the Swiss stage:

20:20	fnatic	vs. Ninjas in Pyjamas

CLG - Immortals, what a joke... Thinking that one of these subpar teams will make it to the playoffs and that one of FaZe and SK will not makes me want to kill myself. Good luck to all teams though.

SK gets VP,G2 and Astralis in a row Immortals gets two asian teams and CLG. now either FaZe or SK will be out while they're clearly better than Immortals and CLG swiss system ruining another tourney boys

Well, it has its flaws but I'm convinced that it's one of the best formats around. However, the group format we saw at Katowice was nice too, a little bit of suspense but the top teams shouldn't make it to the semis directly

How anyone can actually think the swiss system is good is beyond me, its purely based on luck.. Look at immortals, havnt performed at all and now they seem to get into playoffs from getting extremely lucky getting tier 3 and 4 teams. Worst system in history.

except its not, swiss is the ultimate shit. One team can have bad luck and only face the best teams while a stinking shit team gets lucky and advance to quarters because of it. Now we at least get 2 crap teams in quarters who'd never win against for example faze or SK in a bo3.sigh...

I suppose that the second "shit team" you're talking about is HellRaisers, but I disagree: They had a lucky draw vs CLG but they actually beat FaZe and NiP so props to them.

That had nothing to do with GSL being flawed, it had to do with the Valve grouping system being retarded. That will always be a problem regardless of the system used. I mean Optic had to face the 2 finalists to start the Atlanta Major. Randomness has no place is competitive sports, so the Swiss system should be abolished IMO.

+1 Only two or three big events have use this system and it already has shown more problems than the group system. It seems like you'll always one lucky team (fnc at the major, clg imt here) and 1 or 2 with shitty draws (g2 and optic at the major, sk here). Best format would be the group system with real seeds.

Didn't immortal and heroic qualify from that system? As I remember all the good teams ended in one group and Astralis and crap teams in another group.

At the time astralis was a crap team lol. One group had 4 of the top 5 teams and another group had teams ranked 9 through 13.

yes but it wasn't as bad at the major because the best teams in the world are attending, here you have 3 asian teams and clg, who prolly won't even make to major qualifier. inviting trash teams ruins the system and therefore a few upsets screw the whole tournament

what? ofc it was bad at the major, Fnatic managed to get to semi finals without having to face any of the favorites of winning the major, they got to semis by beating Envyus,Mouz,Gambit and North while Astralis and Na'vi faced eachother at quarters. this system is luck based.

i doubt that, look Fnatic run at Eleague major, they lost their first match to G2 then they got matched up with Envyus, Mouz and North they made to playoffs and played against Gambit at the quarters so they made to semis without facing any of the favorites, meanwhile G2 got fked up for winning their first match because they got put against VP, Astralis and North in a row so would be better if they lost their match against Fnatic.

They should make matchups the other way around. 1-0 teams should meet 0-1, 2-0 meet 0-2, 1-1 meet 1-1, etc. The more wins you have, the easier team you meet afterwards. Not like now when a team loses 2 matches and meets another easy team, while the 2-0 guys have to face tier-1 teams to move on.

IDK when comparing similar opponents so far Faze and CLG are equal. Faze lost 10-16 against HR and CLG lost 11-16. CLG beat Gambit on Gambits god map and won 16-14. Faze beat Gambit on a map that favors Faze 16-13. Past successes are obviously in Faze's favor but in this tournament they've played pretty equally.

Immortals has faced UYA then MVP then CLG. 3 of the shittiest teams at the event.

At least clg has put up some fight but yeah. I like the swiss system altogether but there needs to be seedings inside the system somehow from preventing this. Whichever way one looks at this but the best teams arent advancing to the playoffs today.

So? Would you rather have a borring group stage where everything is close to predictable.. Or embrace the beauty of the unknown. You can't deny that these matches and this system brings action and excitement to the viewers. The teams can't complain. If you have what it takes you win.. if not you lose.. that's life.

I'd much rather see this matchup in the semifinals where both of these teams belong, not a QF against SK and immortals that ends in 31 rounds

So why even invite other teams? Why not just play 2 semi finals with the 4 best teams in the world and the event is over. Is that what you want?

Every format has problems.They should work on sorting them out,with seeding or some shit,because "If you are good enough you make it, if not you don't. deal with it." this statement makes no sense,if you beat asian teams( top 100) to get to playoffs while others play top 10 teams to do so.

That's how the system works. So that Barcelona gets Juventus and Bayern gets real madrid in champions league is unfair and should never happen in this stage of CL? That's the magic of this system, and that's why we get to see all this amazing matches in the early stages... Anyways. You got your opnion and i got mine. That's ok ;)

You have the opinion since neither of the DK teams are in the shit this time. MSL insane luck saved them. The CL comparison is incorrect as that is in the playoff, CL has groups, with seeding where the best two advances. Amazing matches should not be BO1.
