Cloud9 beat G2 at DH Austin

Cloud9 have beaten G2 16-10 at DreamHack Open Austin 2017.

G2 and Cloud9 faced each other in the second opening match of Group B. The map was Cache and the French squad started on the CT-side.

Richard "⁠shox⁠" Papillon and Alexandre "⁠bodyy⁠" Pianaro won the pistol round with a 2vs4 post-plant clutch and G2 took the game to 6-0 until Cloud9 could answer. G2 reset Cloud9's economy by winning the following round but the North Americans returned the favor to make it 2-7.

Cloud9 managed to tie the game at 7-7 with five exquisite rounds in a row but Kenny "⁠kennyS⁠" Schrub showed up in the last round of the half, getting a triple kill after lurking and winning the round (8-7).

Cloud9 won their first match in Austin

Cloud9 started the second half strong by winning a 2vs2 in the pistol round. After winning the anti-ecos and leading 10-8, Cloud9 lost a 4vs3 in the first buy round. However, just when things started going right for G2, Tyler "⁠Skadoodle⁠" Latham picked up a quad-kill with Deagle in a 2vs4 to win the round for Cloud9 and extend their lead to 11-9.

G2 were able to win their tenth round after losing three in a row but Cloud9 made the score 14-10 after a successful retake. Cloud9 won the game 16-10 and will play Immortals in the winners' match. G2, on the other hand, will play Liquid tomorrow in an elimination match.

Autimatic is IGL now, so maybe he found a way to use him that is more effective. Same goes for shroud, who has looked awful for a while as well. Also it is only 1 map. Who knows if those 2 can actually keep this kind of form up.
